Brand and Culture Strategist
Versus Creative is a Los Angeles based, music-focused agency that specializes in building communities and experiences that connect people to artists and culture. We work with some of the world’s most renowned music festivals (Coachella, Stagecoach...), musicians (Grateful Dead, Blink 182, Joni Mitchell...) & brands (Meta, Amazon Music, Republic Records...) to architect and execute marketing campaigns, experiential strategies, content direction and partnerships. In addition to the agency work, Versus owns and operates the OFFAIR events series and OFFAIR Records, a label and joint venture with Universal Music, with the intention of soundtracking deeper experiences through music.
BRAND AND CULTURE STRATEGIST
Versus Creative is looking for a full-time manager or director level executive to lead our clients in brand and culture strategy. The position will report directly to one of the partners at the agency and manage direct reports, as well as part time contractors, in a growing company.
Basic job description
- Serve as a brand and creative consultant for select festival clients; work directly with artists’ teams on marketing initiatives.
- Manage and mentor team members.
- Lead curation strategy and editorial for high profile clients and platforms.
- Contribute to curation and A&R for OFFAIR Records signings and shows.
- Work directly with select clients in the brand and culture space as the day-to-day lead, designing and implementing digital, social and/or experiential activations.
- Oversee artist and content marketing for select festivals.
- Lead Versus social impact work.
- Focus genres: hip hop, pop, electronic and anti-genre music that can’t be categorized.
The ideal candidate
- Has a minimum five years’ experience working with digital platforms and directly with creatives in the music and culture space. Experiential is a bonus.
- Has a proven track record in successful creative marketing campaigns.
- Has an eclectic and forward-thinking taste in music, with experience in curation.
- Is a passionate, active and knowledgeable music fan.
- Cares about social causes.
- Is well-versed in Instagram, TikTok, influencer strategy and other modern spaces of consumption and connection that saturate Gen-Z and Millennial cultures.
- Experienced people-manager who can delegate, set strategy, and own the outcomes of their work.
- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Is a self starter, able to lead a project from conception to completion.
- Is passionate about their work and thrives in a small team environment.
- Strong time management and ability to perform under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Has a solid network of industry relationships.
- Thinks creatively and critically.
- Values the power of bringing people together and creating fun experiences as a means of building community.
