With Swimm, Continuous Documentation becomes an integral part of the development lifecycle, making it a must for organizations that need to scale or increase velocity while maintaining the knowledge on their codebase.

Swimm is an early-stage startup eager to impact the developer’s day-to-day experience. In November 2021, Swimm launched its free open beta and announced a $27.6 million Series A funding round. Swimm’s total funding to date is $33.3 million.

About the role:

We are looking for an innovative VP of Marketing with a proven track record leading a product-led growth strategy to leverage Swimm’s platform and create active users who are converted to paying customers.

You will own, manage, and execute Swimm’s go-to-market strategy. As Swimm’s VP of Marketing, you will oversee all aspects of marketing, including branding, positioning, lead and demand generation, product marketing, content creation and strategy, creative/multimedia/digital, and events. This will be measured by the success of the pipeline and through engagement with key audiences.

As the VP of Marketing, you think of value and engagement and not only leads. You can create a repeatable and predictable pipeline engine to drive growth. You are a builder by nature: creative, doer, and data-driven.

About you:

  • 5+ years of experience leading marketing for SaaS companies. Proven marketing success across various disciplines, including brand and positioning, product marketing, industry relations, content marketing, demand generation, and communications (public relations, developers relations).
  • Track record of successfully launching new products with a bottoms-up/PLG GTM.
  • Experience marketing to software developers and engineers to drive product adoption and engagement.
  • A hands-on marketing leader with experience hiring, managing, developing, and retaining top-performing marketing teams.
  • A strong work ethic and high intellectual curiosity.
  • Self-starter, organized, and able to envision, document, and execute a repeatable path and measurable results.
  • A track record of building industry/influencer and community relationships as part of an overall strategy to accelerate product-market fit momentum into a category leadership position.
  • An agile team player with a history of leading, inspiring, and challenging others, including top stakeholders and executive counterparts.
  • Fluent English.

A glimpse into what you will be doing:

  • Define, implement, manage, and monitor end-to-end marketing strategies that align with business goals, supporting the sales team and product marketing.
  • Act as a thought leader across all aspects of marketing to manage the strategy and the creation of all branding, including messaging, tone, design, and industry relations.
  • Promote brand visibility and demand generation by partnering with key industry associations and working closely with sales to determine target audiences and engagement strategies.
  • Serve as a critical executive team member and align at the corporate level on strategic priorities for growth.
  • Plan and participate in quarterly and annual planning for the company’s objectives to identify clear KPIs for reporting marketing effectiveness with the Board's level of accountability.
  • Own the marketing budget and execute a plan to match growth goals.
  • Lead initiatives involving influencer marketing, partnerships, PR, content, and digital marketing.
  • Recruit and manage a marketing team, prioritizing KPIs, employee development, retention, and alignment with the company’s business strategy.

Base salary range: 220K-280K

It's a commission-based position, and in addition to the base, there is an on-target earning component.
