The Associate Vice President (AVP) must be news obsessed, trend focused, always curious, entrepreneurially minded, a lifelong learner, data driven and, above all, a superb listener. The AVP must strive to exceed client expectations on what they thought was possible from a trusted partner, evidenced by feedback and account growth. The AVP in this role is expected to drive the day-to-day account responsibilities and deliver solid communications results (media, social, etc.) across our portfolio of accounts which include the Consumer and B2B sectors.
Responsibilities:
· Serve as an account lead, developing strong relationships with clients, and deliver sound counsel and recommendations.
· Drive significant media relations efforts including press release development, key message documents, pitches, story development, growing and maintaining media relationships, etc.
· Develop and implement creative programs that produce superior results for clients.
· Develop and pitch client programs/projects and drive program implementation.
· Leverage traditional media as well as digital/emerging technologies for PR programming and influencer outreach.
· Drive campaigns from inception through execution.
· Oversee and manage multiple workstreams, ensuring deadlines are being met and quality is assured.
· Serve as a leader to the account team and keep them updated and engaged on client activities, projects and assignments.
· Offer strategic advice about programs and measurement analytics.
· Budget programs and develop program strategy.
· Offer creative and new ideas and thinking to your clients and their programs.
· Participate in agency business development activities.
Requirements:
· 6+ years of PR agency or in-house experience within public relations/communications, with experience working within the consumer vertical.
· Strong and reliable industry relationships with media, influencers, etc.
· Ability to multi task and organize multiple deadlines across various accounts
· Proven ability to write strategic documents as a clear, concise and persuasive writer
· Critical thinking and strategic problem solving
· A “never quit” attitude and a great sense of humor
