Overview
Lead position responsible for managing the day-to-day project plan activities for new product development with the objective to successfully commercialize and launch new products for Bath & Body Works. Plan project timelines and identify milestones that support the predetermined in-store date. Will lead the cross-functional commercialization project teams to achieve successful product launches. Acts as main point-of-contact between the cross-functional project team and the merchant. Develops end-to-end project plans that detail critical milestones, timing, resources, aggregate cost management, and roles and responsibilities. Leads cross-functional project teams, defines commercialization path & key stakeholders, demonstrates in-depth end-to-end commercialization process knowledge and creates/maintains partnership with Retail Development leadership. Reports to Director/Manager Commercialization Services.
Responsibilities
Project Management
- Translate creative vision for new product into Commercialization project plans
- Determine timing, RACI, budgets, risks, target costs
- Manage all commercialization project for category / portfolio of brands: category specialist
- Day-to-day project management execution
- Ensure executive approvals are obtained
- Maintain and communicate Project Status and hindsight
Communication Process
- Manage end-to-end commercialization process
- Work with internal partners to understand commercialization needs
- Adjust process situationally to accommodate minor deviations from process
Problem Solving
- Identify and analyze complex cross-functional issues
- Identifies options, evaluates, and makes recommendations to the team and leadership
- Solve problems autonomously or with little guidance
- Drives decision-making with cross-functional team and oversees successful execution of decision
- Manages project risk
- Prioritize and elevate category critical issues to Managers and Leadership as required
Project Team Scope
- Manages all new product commercialization projects for one category (category specialist): multiple seasons, multiple sub-brands, including launches, re-stages, and line extensions
- Lead cross-functional commercialization team
- Manage project commercialization budgets/ROI for a category
Team Leadership
- Lead and influence project teams (~20 members)
- Creative, Development, Operations Planning, Quality, Package Engineering, & Sourcing
- Gain alignment and execution through influencer model
- Share feedback and hind sights across teams
- Act as a merchant "thought partner"
Reporting
- Prepare and document project team meetings: issue, action step, owner, due date
- Prepare presentations for commercialization approvals
- Prepare project kickoffs, status reports, situational reports, project assessments
Technical Skills
- Understands and uses PLM on a daily basis
- Model what-if scenarios and cost impact in Excel
- Proficient in PowerPoint
Measurements
- ON TIME = 95%
- ON COST = +- 5% of Target (Final vs. Target)
- ON SPEC / ON QUALITY -Meet pre-determined Brand Standard
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Project Management experience handling multiple projects of different scope and complexity
- Strong communication skills
- MS Office – proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in personal care, beauty or consumer packaged goods preferred
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
