Job Summary
DESCRIPTION
Amazon Fashion is seeking a detail-oriented, self-directed Merchandiser with a strong fashion sense and broad knowledge of trends and experience to raise the bar of on and off figure product styling. This position will work within the Content team to support Amazon Fashion's merchandising strategy through the execution of brand and theme-based editorial productions that delight customers.
A successful candidate has a strong understanding of the role of merchandising content in the customer journey and possess excellent project management and influencing skills in order to work effectively across multiple teams to achieve our organizational goals. They will work with marketing managers, stylists, and art directors to documents requirements, curate products, and produce content. They are a self-starter, comfortable with an ambiguity, and able to think big while paying careful attention to details and solving problems independently.
Key job responsibilities
- Pull and curate products to be featured in both on- and off-figure looks.
- Provide merchandising and styling direction to partner teams.
- Ensure that all product selected for shoots meet internal tenets established with Merchandising, Styling Director and Head of Brand. Collaborate with Marketing Manager to prepare campaign shot lists
- Partner with marketing, product, and creative teams to define and optimize ongoing content strategies and opportunities for automation.
- Track key milestones: style-outs, pull periods, and production windows.
- Manage and update SKU notes, post-production credit shots, and internal production tracking tools
- Collaborate with Merch Coordinator(s) to ensure racks are organized for style-outs and photography productions
- Prepare various items for photography production. Work with external Stylists (when necessary) to facilitate on figure product selection for larger campaigns.
- Order product and monitor handling of all product on set to mitigate damages and ensure items remain in sellable condition for return post shoot. Oversee trafficking of samples for all shoots, including coordination of incoming shipments, product check-ins, and packing/transport to shoots.
- Manage individuals who repackage, inspect, and track all product as it leaves the studio. Ensure garments are returned with proper documentation and on deadline. - Run inventory checks on product pre and post shoot
- Compile styling decks for ambassador program
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience styling for editorial photo productions, content management, editorial, merchandising, digital marketing, or similar role
- Online portfolio with professional examples of styling for editorial photo productions
- Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
- Effective collaborator with the ability to work across multiple creative projects partnering with cross functional teams including marketing, editorial, design, and merchandising teams
- Extensive knowledge of the retail landscape, brands, and consumer trends
- Competency in Microsoft Excel or spreadsheet software
- College degree or relevant industry work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a customer-facing editorial or related creative, marketing, or merchandising role for a consumer publication or retail organization
- Fluency with social media and influencer marketing, including specific social influencers across demographic segments
- Ability to work in a constantly changing, fast-paced, e-commerce setting.
- Experience with Airtable or other project management software
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Extensive experience styling contemporary and designer fashion brands
