Earned Media and Influencer Marketing Lead

We are currently seeking an experienced, skilled, intelligent and motivated integrated marketing professional to lead our Earned Media and Influencer Marketing work for a communication support contract for a federal agency leading a COVID-19 public education campaign. This individual would work in a senior account supervisor role, reporting to the Division Director, and collaborating with a team of communication and marketing professionals —including an earned media agency, health science writers, in-house creative, workstream leads (Partnerships, Social Listening Lab and Research & Evaluation) to lead and oversee Earned Media and Influencer Outreach efforts for a large-scale campaign.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing client account management to understand needs, manage expectations, and build long-term relationships.
- Thinking creatively to solve tangible marketing and communication problems through the application of research and data insights, technology, media outreach and numerous other channels.
- Leading and collaborating with subcontractors and team members to anticipate and identify client needs and generate forward-thinking ideas to promote updated vaccines and COVID treatments.
- Liaising with influencer agencies to manage influencers, monitor publications (timeline, quality of content, alignment to campaign messaging).
- Overseeing and providing quality control of an existing influencer vetting process.
- Assessing influencer content landscape to inform Campaign content strategy and applying trends.
- Overseeing the development of earned pitching strategies, as well as execution of the plans.
- Reviewing and directing the development of all earned media materials including talking points, Q&A documents and other prep materials needed for TV, radio, and print interviews.
- Working with earned media agency to prepare HHS trusted messengers for SMTs, RMTs and media briefings as needed.
- Supporting new business and capture planning for the COVID-19 Communication Division.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree in communications, marketing, public health, public relations, journalism, or an equivalent field of expertise.
- Experience working with federal health agencies on public health campaigns is critical.
- Project management experience, particularly shepherding content through review, and ensuring changes are applied consistently.
- Experience supporting all facets of a communication and marketing plans including strategy development, media outreach, social media marketing, partnership development, and project management.
- A minimum of 15 years of work experience.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and creatively.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willing to do the nitty-gritty work required to make a project successful.
- Ability to collaborate with and promote a positive relationship between colleagues, partners, and clients.
- Initiative and enthusiasm to develop recommendations and persistence to advocate for recommendations to colleagues and client.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Superior email and telephone etiquette and an ability to deal effectively with customers, contractors, peers, and leadership.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Teams and Smartsheet is also preferred.
