FLOOF (@ourfloof) is a pre-launch dog wellness brand focused on creating science-backed, high quality skin health and grooming products. We've partnered with a veterinary dermatologist to create an innovative line of highly effective but gentle products that we will be sharing with the world in February 2023. By prioritizing design, product transparency, and community, our goal is to inspire younger dog owners to better care for their dog's skin. We're looking for a Co-Founder, who will also serve as our Chief Marketing Officer, to join our team and co-lead the growth of Floof.
As the Co-Founder/CMO you will work alongside our CEO to launch and scale the brand. As the CMO, you will lead all things marketing from developing campaign strategy, partnering with agencies and vendors, forming strategic partnerships, defining and analyzing marketing KPIs, ideating and executing various creative campaigns, creating forecasts/budgets, to recruiting. As a Co-Founder you will receive 30% equity (3 years vest with 1 year cliff). Position is unpaid until Seed Round is raised (est. Summer 2023).
Your Role:
Strategy & Planning
- Define, measure and report the performance of all paid marketing channels/campaigns and assess against ROI and KPI goals
- Develop and drive comprehensive omni-channel marketing strategy against KPIs
- Ideate out-of-the-box integrated marketing campaigns that will acquire, engage, and retain customers across all sales channels
- Own campaign calendar across marketing and product launches
- Lead identification of target consumer segments and markets
Acquisition & Retention Marketing
- Design and manage performance marketing organization and external agency partners to deliver against established KPIs
- Innovate, test and implement disruptive strategies across paid social and search platforms
- Own email, SMS and social communications, utilizing Klaviyo and other platforms
Influencers & Partnerships
- Devise and own a multi-tiered, data-driven influencer marketing strategy for launch campaigns and paid partnerships
- Strategize and execute upon creative influencer marketing campaigns to support product launches and drive brand awareness
- Develop synergistic, strategic brand partnerships to fuel growth
PR
- Select, engage and manage the PR function for the business
- Cultivate relationships with key editors and writers
- Drive launch press coverage
- Devise and execute out-of-the-box strategies to continue post-launch brand momentum
Analytics
- Oversee the marketing analytics stack to ensure data integrity and availability
- Analyze marketing data to uncover insights that shape marketing strategy
Talent & Culture
- Recruit and develop a high performance, entrepreneurial marketing team
Executive
- Own and efficiently scale the marketing budget, allocating spending and optimizing a blend of channels
- Participate in fundraising and shareholder meetings to present strategies, tactics and results to company stakeholders
Qualifications
- 4+ years of high-level marketing experience in a high-growth, omni-channel CPG startup brand
- Experience in pet care, wellness, or beauty highly preferred
- Ambition and entrepreneurial mindset to build a high growth business
- Scrappiness and willingness to get your hands dirty
- Current on latest CPG and social commerce trends
- Ability to problem solve in a dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative work environment
