Bud Love is looking for a Director of Marketing, who has passion for cannabis and will help accelerate category growth and adoption. An evangelist, who wants to become a part of the mixer revolution and changing the way cannabis is consumed in the US, and globally. This job will require understanding of how to create a completely new and innovative category, and drive demand in-store and online.
Responsibilities
- Be part of a small core team, to develop go-to-market strategies that will help the adoption of this new category
- Develop the marketing strategy to grow Bud Love awareness and brand preference, and educate consumers about this new category
- Implement demand generation strategies to drive traffic and encourage sampling at wholesale and in-store (both dispensaries and smoke shops)
- Grow traffic to budlove.com and grow online sales
- Implement the optimum mix of channels for growth-digital, social, influencer marketing, programmatic, search, SEO, on-ground events, in-store promotions, PR, outdoor and other media
- Evaluate the effectiveness of these channels and content with clear KPI’s and optimization
- Develop all channel and retail communication
- Drive strategies to build retail and consumer loyalties including referral programs, subscription schemes etc.
- Work on new marketing ideas to constantly create excitement and buzz for Bud Love
- Handle all agencies, vendors and other partners and determine in-house vs outsourced model
- Manage the budget in conjunction with the CFO
- Analyze and track performance marketing performance metrics
- Collaborate with internal and external clients and partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent 7-10 years of relevant experience
- Strong B2C marketing experience
- Experience in cannabis or tobacco products
- Experience in new category creation and smoke shops will be an added plus
- Skilled marketer in driving demand through a mix of content and channels
- Functional knowledge of digital, social, search, SEO, programmatic and influencer marketing
- Experience in driving on the ground events and in-store promotions. Added experience in college campus programs will be a plus
- Self-motivated with a bias to action
- Loves strategy but is strong in driving execution
- Can work well with limited resources
- Dreams big, is passionate about what they do and uses data and insights to drive decisions but also understands the ‘art side’ of marketing
- Excellent communication skills
