Job Description

The Senior Director, Digital Platforms and Strategy will work with both internal and external partners to help drive the strategic, multiplatform digital content initiatives of SportsNet New York (SNY). The Director is responsible for the strategic direction and operation of the company’s digital platforms with a focus on the broader goal of expanding availability, consumption and monetization of SNY's content across a variety of platforms. This role will report directly to SNY’s President.

Job Duties

  • Help lead SNY's digital content strategy by developing, executing, and aligning multiplatform strategies based upon current and emerging trends in the linear and digital programming space
  • Direct SNY's strategy for innovations, renovations, and maintenance of all digital products including website, mobile app, podcast platforms, VOD, social and direct-to-consumer.
  • Create and track key performance indicators to inform and shape digital executions on all platforms
  • Collaborate with key contacts at SNY’s platform partners to create and evolve best-in-class distribution portals on all platforms
  • Manage development teams and platform vendors for prioritization, planning and execution of product initiatives ensuring they align with business goals
  • Secure and oversee execution of third-party distribution, maintaining best practices for content publishing and syndication
  • Partner with SNY’s digital, remote and studio production teams for content delivery across various platforms
  • Identify innovative ways to implement new and existing content and monetization strategies across all platforms and communicate plan to key stakeholders across all levels
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with network content and revenue partners such as sports teams, advertisers, and other related businesses
  • Collaborate with various departments, including sales, marketing, and production, to create and execute on-brand sales and programming initiatives
  • Oversee and maintain SNY’s digital operations budget
  • Lead digital partnership evaluation process, ensuring opportunity aligns with corporate objectives
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and provide efficiencies to content delivery teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or relevant work experience
  • Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in content distribution, platform development and partnerships within the media industry.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be willing to work majority of the work week at company headquarters in New York, NY
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Strong experience in and knowledge of the digital distribution and product landscape with the ability to create actionable plans that utilize cutting edge digital opportunities
  • Deep understanding of digital content strategy with an ability to manage a portfolio of content across different platforms

Salary range: $150,000 - $200,000, bonus eligible.
