Spotify is looking for a Social Media Manager to drive our consumer engagement strategy for the Global Social team.

On a day-to-day basis, the Engagement Manager is responsible for ensuring that the Spotify brand is contributing to or leading cultural conversations across social media platforms. They create the consistent drumbeat of always-on content and affinity driving moments on our social channels that keep our followers liking, commenting, and sharing our content. They are responsible for our community management agency as well as generating engagement activations meant to increase on-platform interactions with our content.

The Engagement Manager will also maintain an editorial calendar for the core @Spotify handles, populated by content franchises and consumer engagement moments while balancing their content against product, music, and podcast promotion campaigns. They will work with Campaign Leads on the Brand Social team as well as the Social Media Strategists on the Music, Talk, and International teams to ensure that our content is balanced, strategically distributed, and tailored to the specific audience and platform.

What you'll do

  • Maintain the engagement content within the global social calendar.
  • Leverage human, cultural, and audience insights to develop reactive social strategic concepts to be implemented by internal teams or supporting agencies.
  • Develop and distribute a variety of documentation from social briefs, strategy decks, and engagement calendars across industry-standard tools such as Google Docs, Sprinklr, and Airtable.
  • Identify unique demographic and geographic nuances of each social media platform, designing a bespoke engagement strategy tailored to each.
  • Ideate and update social media content franchises that feature fans, music and/or podcast talent.
  • Develop real-time social content & coverage plans for tentpole events and cultural moments.
  • Manage work streams between in-house creative teams, external agencies, and Global Social teams to deliver impactful creative and strategy.
  • Travel and attend events to oversee and execute planned on-the-ground social activations.
  • Align with the Global Head of influencer strategy on opportunities for influencers to be featured on the Spotify social handles in ways that move brand priorities forward.
  • Work closely with the larger Global Social team to ensure campaign and always-on efforts are strategically complementary and not conflicting.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders looking to optimize their contributions for social performance.

Who you are

  • 5-8 years experience working in social media global brands, artists, or creators
  • Develop and direct social media campaigns targeted at different and distinct audiences from initial conception all the way to posting and reporting.
  • Able to distill complex cultural moments and conversations into actionable strategies and qualitative learnings.
  • A collaborative mind-set and ability to work with stakeholders and agency partners across a variety of marketing disciplines.
  • Excellent communicator who is able to organize disparate conversations and multiple needs into a measured, impactful strategy
  • As comfortable on the red carpet capturing a moment for TikTok as you are at home directing a crew to capture remotely
  • Excellent at stakeholder management, both with large internal teams and external talent
  • A strong strategic sensibility and ability to translate social plans to collaborators from a variety of backgrounds and skill sets
  • Willing and excited to travel for work as needed, be it to a music festival, a product launch, or a pop-up experience
