I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
The Brand Product & Innovation Team is seeking a data-driven Social Strategy Director with an excellent aesthetic, collaborative spirt, and deep social media knowledge to help grow awareness and promote sales of our Better Homes and Gardens collection at Walmart across Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok. This position is responsible for ideating slick new ways to increase awareness of our collection on social media and promote sales, as well as helping formulate tactical recommendations as the landscape evolves. To accomplish this, the Social Media Manager will work with our General Managers, as well as the Better Homes and Gardens editorial and social teams, to develop benchmarks for success, report on platform insights and relay data-backed insights to our content creators. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and has good critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. They also embrace the spirit of testing and love of keeping up with the latest platform trends. Additionally, the role will require a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and will ensure the social accounts reflect this.
You Will
- Oversee and manage the content mix and posting schedule for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
- Work closely with The Creative Team to approve all social visuals including graphic design and social video cuts
- Report on performance and share strategy insights for multiple stakeholders weekly and monthly
- Pitch weekly and monthly story ideas with social and priority products in our collection in mind
- Create original social-first franchises and collaborations
- Develop promotional strategies around priority products
- Ideate and execute on marketing and editorial initiatives
- Manage and train an Influencer Editor and Social Media Coordinator, as well as all social workflow

You Have
- 7+ years of editorial social experience at a media company, ideally with a focus on commerce, or an agency
- Experience coordinating and collaborating with key stakeholders across business units
- Experience with Google Analytics and CrowdTangle, and familiarity with Facebook and Instagram Insights
- A familiarity with the Better Homes and Gardens brand, as well as a passion for merchandising.

Strategy Development – Execute a brand-by-brand strategic social roadmap in conjunction with
key business objectives, and emerging trends and technologies.

KPI Management – Define clear strategies and objectives for each social channel that attach to
channel KPI’s and goals. Work cross-functionally with stakeholders to track, measure, and if
necessary, redefine social KPIs.

Analysis and Reporting – Analyze social performance from both a qualitative and quantitative
perspective and present platform-specific insights and trends with the broader team through
regular reporting as well as deep dive presentations. Work with Editorial Team members to define
strategies and testing opportunities to drive additional audience engagement and growth on
individual social platforms and traffic acquisition via social channels. Analyze the success of
programs and communicate results to support recommendations for future programs.

Establish Guidelines – Own and evolve social media content guidelines individualized for
specific strategic goals. Identify and manage the right processes and tools needed to run and
grow a robust social media program for both user content generation, community management,
analytics etc.

Relationship Management – Act as a liaison with contacts at social platforms and vendors
(Pinterest, Google, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Tumblr). Build relationships and drive
innovation opportunities with top social networks.

Education
College education—bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Experience
7+ years of professional social media experience, preferably working directly for a brand or agency.
Specific Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Fluency in social media analytics and insights tools (CrowdTangle, Tubular, Google Analytics,
etc.)
- Voracious follower of leading social and technology industry voices, experts, and developers
- Previous professional experience as a social media manager and content creator
- Experience working directly with internal stakeholders at social platforms like Instagram,
Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok and YouTube.

Salary: $94,000 - $141,000
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives. In addition, Dotdash Meredith provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a generous 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
