Who we are looking for:

Conquer Cancer®, the ASCO Foundation is in search of a highly motivated Social Media Manager to join our growing team and help accelerate breakthroughs in lifesaving research and empower people everywhere to conquer cancer.

The Social Media Manager will oversee interactions for Conquer Cancer with the public through implementing content strategies on social media platforms. The selected candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing strategic social media campaigns and communications that increase the social media footprint of Conquer Cancer, enhances its reputation, engages key stakeholder groups, and supports its work overall.

This position is remote eligible or primary location in Alexandria, VA.

What you will do:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations for all Conquer Cancer social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.)
  • Write, design, produce and deploy creative content for Conquer Cancer’s social media presence, including light multimedia/video production, by working collaboratively across internal teams and the ASCO enterprise.
  • Develop and oversee social media specific editorial calendar
  • Own social analytics and insights, track performance and optimize content execution
  • Assess all social channels for fundraising opportunities
  • Collaborate on paid social efforts via agency partners
  • Extend the brand’s voice (content, visual style and tone) across channels ensuring all content is on-brand and cohesive
  • Develop social influencer strategy to increase brand awareness and engagement in a positive, authentic way
  • Conduct social media listening/reporting
  • Collaborate with ASCO departments to amplify Conquer Cancer’s reach
  • Innovate Conquer Cancer’s online presence by staying current on platform changes, trends, best practices, new/emerging platforms, algorithm updates, etc.

What you will need in order to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in internet marketing, journalism, communications, or related field
  • 5+ years of social media management experience plus exceptional creative portfolio
  • Proficiency with social media tools and software
  • Experience with social media reporting and analysis

Ideal candidates will also contribute:

  • Mobile photography and videography creation and editing

ADA/Physical Requirements

Fast-paced office environment with extended periods seated or standing at a desk.

High use of computer and other office technology equipment.

Travel

11-20 days/yr
