The work of the African American Leadership Forum is rooted in shifting systems and the people that lead them towards a more just future. We partner with communities, nonprofit organizations, foundations, and governments to co-create solutions focused on a host of social and economic opportunities.
The Digital Content Lead works under the head of Digital Strategy and Marketing to create, plan, and execute digital content and messaging across all digital channels and functions, including direct response. This position plays an integral role in building and elevating African American Leadership Forum’s digital footprint by accelerating the organization through strategic and consistent content and narrative execution. The Digital Content Lead is responsible for identifying content gaps and creating and managing all the digital content on the website or social media. You will partner with key stakeholders across the organization—including the design & innovation, discourse, policy, research & data, leadership development, and fund development to create a cohesive narrative around our work.
This person should have an eye for storytelling in the digital realm. This position will help manage and guide the process, while developing and honing a content strategy for the website and social media channels that involves reimagining existing content and developing website features that can funnel through other marketing channels. The Digital Content Lead should have the keen sense of an editor, be able to update and craft headlines, assign and create stories, apply strategy, SEO, and best practices to stakeholder content while understanding how to read audience engagement analytics. Fast-paced reporting, thoughtful storytelling, and an ability to react to real-time situations are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Evaluate and build upon existing communications strategy through a social media and content development lens.
- Shape and deliver thought leadership activities throughout the year showcasing innovative examples of the issues we are trying to solve for.
- Contribute ideas for digital and social campaigns including tactics across paid, earned, shared, and owned media.
- Conceive, implement, and measure digital work across all relevant channels.
- Oversee social and content development in conjunction with our internal teams.
- Understand and interpret analytics as well as when, and how, they should be applied to change or pivot web strategies.
- Align web and content strategies for programs and events.
- Maintain a relevant website - constantly updating information and working with agency leaders for content production.
- Provide support and strategic partnership on events and forums in collaboration with the Event Logistics Lead.

REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in omni-marketing, journalism, public relations, strategic communications, digital content strategy.
- +/- 3 – 5 years' experience in digital marking, branding, content creation & management, social media, copy writing preferred.
- Excellent writing skills, editing skills, and the ability to create compelling content from brief descriptions, summaries, and interviews.
- Experience running both paid and organic social campaigns from a content perspective.
- Strong technological aptitude, expertise in Adobe Suite, InDesign, Canva, Google Analytics & Data Studio, Facebook Ads Manager.
- Capacity to quickly master new tools and platforms as technologies evolve.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to take initiative and handle multiple projects with respect to timelines and deliverables.
- An understanding of web user experiences and web audience development with the ability to adjust digital strategy quickly and smartly, is a nice to have.

Pay Transparency:
At AALF, we offer a transparent view into two key components of your total compensation package: Base Salary and Benefits. The salary range for this position below is not inclusive of an annual discretionary bonus. Actual offers are made with consideration for relevant experience and anticipated impact. For our lead level positions, our compensation ranges from $55,000 to $70,000.
