Manager Social Media
The Gig:
Are you passionate about social media? Do you pretty much live on Instagram? We’re on a mission to create the world’s most irresistible travel brand and we are seeking a talented and innovative communication’s Crew Member. As one of our key team members, the Manager, Social Media will help make this a reality. Communications teams at Virgin are super important to helping make the brand loved and famous both internally and externally.
As the Manager of Social Media, you will be expected to take the lead on strategic brand communications and management of social media channels. What will excite us most is your creativity and innovation that will make us stand out from the rest of the industry. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and be tied at the hip with our PR team in order to help establish and articulate a clear vision for Virgin Voyages through content and then create, curate and communicate that via social channels. This role requires the person to be a strong communicator, be clever, be super organized, a little bit technical, and awesome to work with so they deftly manage all programs and challenges that will come up.
What You’ll Be Up To:
- Create, craft and execute a strategic social media plan that supports the long-term brand building and business goals.
- Oversee the day to day management of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, LinkedIn as well as community management of external forums.
- Must have an adept knowledge of social media management tools and industry best practices.
- Oversee impact and success of social media strategy and execution tactics in order to optimize the right content to the right target at the right time.
- Work to develop story ideas, have you finger on the pulse of culture, and make “epicly” engaging content for our followers.
- Collaborate with internal and external resources to develop a range of creative, consumer facing content marketing campaigns and promotions.
- Maintain and enforce all FTC guidelines, legal, and privacy requirements for consumer promotions and sweepstakes.
- Collaborate with PR team on developing influencer programs.
Superpowers Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism or related field of study
- 5 years of experience in public relations and event planning in an agency or corporate setting required.
- Consumer and/or trade media experience required.
- Travel or cruise line experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills required, verbal and written.
- Ability to effectively communicate with members of the media and management.
- Experience and knowledge of mass media and its workings.
- Must be detailed oriented and have superior organizational skills.
