We’re looking for a full-time marketing hire to help grow our career coaching platform.
As Mento’s Brand & Content Marketing Manager, you'll spearhead our continued expansion to help millions of people build happier, healthier careers. You’ll work closely with the entire Mento team — our co-CEO, Chief Product Officer, sales, and member success teams — to drive our growth and content marketing initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to grow a product, platform, and community that genuinely makes a meaningful difference in the lives and careers of our members, coaches, and partners.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record of succeeding on high-performing VC-backed startup teams, innovating and scaling B2B platforms and/or marketplaces, and loves designing novel approaches to building brands. You have a strong understanding of growth and content marketing and enjoy using data, consumer insights, and DTC trends to build category-defining companies. We’re looking for a teammate who is curious, creative, kind, and brilliant; who enjoys collaborating with others just as much as they enjoy delivering great work independently; and who will challenge and delight us at every turn.
Key Responsibilities
- Take Ownership Over the Full Marketing Cycle : From driving inbound leads to retention and loyalty, help us craft the ideal customer journey that can help people get the most out of Mento, coaching, and our platform, and feel surprised and delighted on every step of the journey.
- Develop the Brand and the Voice: Help us take our nascent brand to the next level and help us translate our values, worth, and unique view on the changing world of work and life. Flex your creativity as you tell stories that resonate with a diverse audience.
- Set the Marketing Strategy and strike a balance between longer-term strategic brand building initiatives, efforts to drive product adoption, mid-term lead generation and nurturing, and immediate quick wins to achieve growth & ROI targets.
- Create and Implement Content Marketing Programs : You’ll own email, social, content, podcasts, and PR and will build some of these programs from scratch.
- Build a Growth Engine: Build out the structure and lead rapid experimentation and iteration to drive growth alongside our sales and member success collaborators.
- Be a Strategic Thought Partner and Leader on path from 0-1: This role provides a unique opportunity for leadership and partnership with the founding team. We are highly collaborative, and you will be the leading voice in driving marketing.

Excellent Storyteller

Marketing Generalist
- Your strength is in driving growth, yet feel excited and energized about building a defining brand.
- You are extensible and adaptable. You love all aspects of marketing (growth, product, and brand), and even if you don’t have expertise in one area, you know what good looks like – and better yet enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to do something new.
- You have strong experience across growth marketing (demand generation) and brand Loyalty/Retention, Social Media/Viral Marketing, and managing tactics across the full customer funnel from acquisition to retention. You must have in-depth knowledge and expertise in CRM, paid media, content, social, partner, and email marketing.
- You have extensive experience in B2B marketing, and ideally have grown membership on a B2B platform, marketplace, and/or subscription service.
- You have knowledge of Campaign Management Tools and Analytics Tools (eg. MixPanel, Google Analytics, HubSpot).
