Position Overview

American Eagle Outfitters Inc. is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic team member to join our best-in-class social media team as a Coordinator – Social Media. This role reports to the Manager - Social Media.

Our Coordinator – Social Media will assist our in-house and award-winning social media team that is responsible for creating engaging content and achieving business objectives. You will get a chance to have your hands touch everything from talent collaborations, partnerships, photo and video shoots, influencer, and content creation. We are looking for someone who not only has a pulse on what’s new, happening, and exciting but also who feels embedded into those communities. A zest for culture and understanding of trends is critical for success in this role.

This role is initially open to candidates who live outside of the Greater New York City area working east coast hours. However, candidates who apply will eventually be required to relocate to the NYC area at their own expense to work in a hybrid office environment and per NY State laws, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

What A Week Looks Like

  • Manage the scheduling and coordination of posts across all channels utilizing 3 rd party scheduling platforms.
  • Organize content and posts in internal calendars, project management platforms and execute changes and updates as needed.
  • Monitor social media posts for opportunities to fulfill customer needs and questions (general community management).
  • Post content across platform (some weekend and holiday work will be required in this area).
  • Drafts and writes copy for social media posts.
  • Generates weekly “trend reports” that help influence social strategy and inform senior leadership of social media trends.
  • Frequent contribution and engagement with our customers, followers, and Gen-Z across social media.
  • Coordinate calendars and schedule meetings, take meeting notes, send post-meeting recaps.
  • Pull weekly and mid-week performance reports and provide data-driven recommendations for improving performance and engagement of social content across channels.
  • Coordinate with Paid Social, PR and Influencer teams to fulfill cross-functional tasks and needs as assigned.

What You Have

  • 0-2 years of experience working within the social media space.
  • Personal or working experience and knowledge of all social media platforms.
  • A strong writer who can write engaging social copy, understands Gen-Z trends and reads comment sections religiously.
  • A bachelor’s degree from a four-year university in marketing is preferred but not required.
  • Interest in fashion / retail. Experience working at a retail store previously will help.
  • An understanding of eye-catching and scroll-stopping content across TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.
  • Organized, enthusiastic, hard-working and a “not above any task” attitude is required.
  • A strong desire to learn and an ability to take feedback and apply it with a positive attitude.
  • Previous experience working in Sprinklr, Sprout, Dash Hudson or similar platforms preferred.

Pay/Benefits Information

  • Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
