The Role
As the Social Media Coordinator, you’ll help to maximize the effectiveness of J/PR’s Social Media account teams by owning the report drafting process, coordinating social media campaigns, and acting as a nimble team player, remaining curious and continually seeking opportunities both within accounts and on the broader functional team to learn about best practices, new approaches, industry updates, etc. In this role, you’ll work to build relationships internally and externally so that you can begin to understand how to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders. You’ll also manage the internal editing process for the Editorial Calendar. This includes presenting the EdCal mock up to Account Social Lead, receiving feedback, knowing where to find appropriate images and how to organize assets, making edits, and bringing the EdCal to a place where it’s ready to present to the client.
Duties and Responsibilities
Account + Client Management
- Observe and assist in the development of annual strategic plans and quarterly goals
- Act as client first-responder for imagery requests and photo needs, content calendar requests, and influencer relations
- Participate actively in internal meetings
- Assist with influencer relations: proactively reaching out/reactively vetting and managing the hosting process with the account team
- Assist in pitching social media editors
- Guide student interns and post-grads
Content Calendars
- Maintain client’s social brand and consistently deliver on-brand copy and content to support their aesthetic and voice
- Create first drafts of mockups and captions for monthly content calendars
- Own the internal editing process through editorial calendar platform
- Tee up content to be published to Instagram and Facebook in agreed upon cadence
- Craft ideas for on-brand Instagram Stories for clients
Content Production
- Help develop the content mission shot list and itinerary
- Research models/influencers for content shoots
- Assist with content creation (video, photo, graphic) at on-property shoots
- Assist with post-production on content shoots in Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop
- Assist with the digital filing within content archives for each client
Community Management
- Engage in community management, posting, replying and engaging within social media channels
- Lead team’s UGC (user generated content) request efforts
- Execute reactive community management strategy
- Execute proactive community management efforts, learning and growing knowledge of successful tactics leading to follower growth
Paid Social
- Assist with developing audiences relevant to client markets and goals
- Assist with identifying campaign objectives based on client goals and draft campaigns with on-brand copy and visuals
- Assist with boosting posts and monitoring/launching paid campaigns, working with account leads to utilize appropriate budgets and objectives
Reporting
- Create the first drafts of monthly reports with your insights, recognizing what is important to include in these updates and providing detailed, complete reports that require minimal revisions
- Craft weekly reports of content performance / analytics and weekly updates with minimal edits needed
- Create influencer recaps
- Monitor channels, engagement, growth and KPIs and include in reports and updates
Other
- Assist in research on upcoming trends, articles & social media relating to clients and the travel, luxury hospitality & culinary realms
- Assist in brainstorming & planning sessions/social media angles & partnerships
- And other tasks, projects, or duties as required
Experience
- College Degree or comparable experience required
- At least 1 year social media experience
- Some experience using tools to measure social media ROI and create reporting such as Sprout Social, Google Analytics, and Hootsuite
- Some experience using content management tools such as HeyOrca, Sprout Social, etc.
- Some photo editing experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom preferred but not required)
- Content creation capabilities preferred: video, photography & graphics, shot lists, props, storylines
- Agency experience preferred
- Travel and/or hotel industry experience preferred
Requirements
- Computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Skills in establishing & maintaining effective, respectful & professional relationships with other employees and clients
- Basic understanding of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Foundational understanding of Influencer engagement
