Position Description
The Director of Content Creation leads the creation and evaluation of StC’s climate change lessons by overseeing the entire process from start to finish with the goal of providing K-12 teachers of all disciplines with the most useful climate change lessons. We are a startup, however, and we always need help in many areas. Your main role will be to efficiently manage the content creation and evaluation process and ensure it is useful for all educators. Roles include, but are not limited to:
- Inspire teachers, lead the various teacher taskforce teams to conceptualize, develop, and execute creative lesson plans.
- Manage lesson plans and teacher professional development for content creators
- Manage and support Grade Band Coordinators, Teaching Materials Designers, and Content Creators
- Create and manage a group of subject-matter experts who will work as lesson plan consultants
- Oversee the evaluation of lesson plans
- Conducts internal reviews of all lesson plans
- Builds and manages external reviewers
- Act as point person for feedback between all the content reviews (internal, external, science, TMD) and Grade-Band Coordinators and Content Creators
- Oversee periodic lesson plan and accompanying materials upgrades to all lessons including live ones
- Prioritize content for creation and review by filling in content and standard gaps
- Manage updates to content creation process and content creation materials
- Host monthly Content Creator meetings
- Update monthly Content Creator bulletin board
- Hire content creators
- Create climate change lessons
Qualifications
Requirements
- Passionate about our mission and values
- Expertise in writing lesson plans across multiple disciplines and grade levels
- Strong teaching expertise with a track record of promoting students’ growth
- An ability to lead people of various backgrounds and inspire creativity and collaboration
- Available to work at least 30 hours per week
Auxiliary Requirements
- Knowledge of climate change topics
- Familiarity with national US standards (common core, NGSS, etc.)
- Possess the ability to communicate complicated processes simply
- Ability to learn and adapt in a start-up, remote environment
- Balance working independently and collaboratively

- Task #1: A teacher submitted this 9-12 lesson plan and is asking for feedback. Utilizing this lesson plan rubric, outline how you would give feedback to this teacher.
- Task #2: Make a copy of this K-2 lesson plan and edit the lesson plan. After you finalize the edits, use this lesson plan rubric to score the lesson. Submit the finalized lesson plan and the completed lesson plan rubric.
- Candidates will be anonymously scored based on this rubric.
- We are actively recruiting. Please submit as soon as possible. We are hoping to start interviewing prior to February 15th.
