Position Summary

The Performance Creative Specialist will be responsible for ideating, developing, and executing high-performing creative assets for a variety of online advertising campaigns for a fast growing personal care brand. They will develop strategies to address business goals through creative content, with a focus on performance marketing.

The ideal candidate will be highly creative with strong data analysis skills. They will understand consumer psychology, be passionate about learning about our customer and brand, and be motivated by optimizing and iterating on creative to unlock digital marketing performance. This person will be able to effectively project manage while balancing multiple projects at once. This person is a collaborative teammate with superb communication skills, and enjoys working cross-functionally with the entire organization to produce the best content possible.

This role provides an opportunity to make a positive impact on the future of sustainable personal care. The person in this role will report to the Paid Media Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Own advertising creative strategy and production for paid and organic content testing across Facebook/Instagram, Amazon, TikTok, Snap, direct mail and more
  • Ideate breakthrough creative ideas and narratives that capture attention, drive conversions, and effectively portray the brand and products
  • Create image and video content from initial concept to completion; brief out, write scripts, film (sometimes yourself or another creator), edit post production, post/deliver, and analyze
  • Monitor and analyze creative performance data (thumb stop ratio, hold rate, CTR, CVR, etc.) to optimize and implement new iterations that increase performance; maintain a best-practices creative toolkit for the company to reference
  • Establish yourself as an internal thought leader on paid and organic creative strategy, keeping ahead of trends both in your industry and in pop-culture, providing inspiration and proactive recommendations
  • Develop creative hypotheses and share performance with greater marketing and leadership team to show progress towards growth goals
  • Ensure ads are delivered to buying team according to the marketing calendar with proper lead times
  • Embody the brand’s messaging, language, tone, and mission in all of the content you produce
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with retention and PD teams to unlock new growth avenues; work closely with the creative team to bring your content visions to life

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3+ years of creative or digital advertising experience, preferably with an ecommerce brand or agency
  • Strong portfolio showcasing experience in developing and executing high-performing creative assets for online advertising campaigns
  • Proficiency in key KPIs and data analysis as it relates to creative performance
  • General knowledge of graphic design and video editing
  • Experience managing a team or third-party partners
  • Comfortability in front of a camera a plus
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), project management, and time management skills
  • Highly organized and methodological yet flexible for a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • A “no task is too small or too large” type-of-attitude
  • Strong ability to work autonomously in a remote-first environment
  • Startup and personal care (hair, body, skin) experience or passion is a plus
  • Interest in and knowledge of sustainability and the zero-waste movement
