About Trevor

The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. We are a non-profit that provides 24/7 life-saving support via phone, text, and chat. We also operate the world’s largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth and run innovative research, education, and advocacy programs. We’ve been saving lives every day for over 20 years.

Overview of the role

The Trevor Project’s Advocacy team seeks to provide high impact programs to help prevent LGBTQ youth from entering crisis and advance The Trevor Project’s mission to end suicide among LGBTQ young people. This includes life-saving advocacy and policy work on a variety of key issues facing LGBTQ youth across the United States such as: ending conversion therapy; advocating for every school in the country to adopt LGBTQ-inclusive suicide prevention policies; expanding the inclusion of sexual orientation and gender identity data in death records; and fighting against state-level bills targeting trans and nonbinary youth.

You will assist with tracking and analyzing state legislation, preparing lobbying materials, and developing calls to action, creating, maintaining, and deploying an up-to-date library of best practice resources designed to support movement partners, allied constituencies, and other critical stakeholders in our collective efforts to protect LGBTQ youth.
