Purpose & Overall Relevance For The Organization

Working closely with the Sr. NAM Brand Manager and the Sr. Global PR Manager, the US Public Relations and Activations Manager will drive strategy and execution of Brand Partners, event activations, and seeding within the US Market. Manager will collaborate with the adidas Golf Global Brand Marketing team, adidas Golf Leadership team and other internal stakeholders to deliver critical brand and product stories to external outlets to drive earned media and present the adidas brand in a positive light.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drives and develops story ideas and partner with various media outlets to build brand recognition that is in-line with the overall brand message
  • Develops and implements public relations outreach programs, pitching media with product news, stories, business, or staff information for inclusion in upcoming articles
  • Maintain established relationships with trade media and increase visibility in consumer and business publications to position aG products positively
  • Makes decisions related to outside media interview requests and then coordinates those interviews with internal departments
  • Identifies product review opportunities with media; coordinates with project managers and provides media with requested materials
  • Uses considerable independent discretion and judgment in the execution of public relations activities and events
  • Stays in regular communication with Sr. Global PR Manager to make sure global strategy is being executed locally
  • Drives strategy, research and execution of Influencer and Brand Partner Marketing plan
  • Manages day to day operations of Brand Partner management inclusive of story support, content creations, and in-market execution.
  • Own creation, execution, and distribution of US seeding kits inclusive of product ordering, kit concepting and curation, as well as final execution
  • Support NAM Brand Communications team for all event activations throughout the year while managing media outreach and attendance
  • Provides guidance to adidas STL members and onsite attendees on brand messaging and proper media protocol.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Should have a strong understanding of the golf industry, competitive landscape and products to position product offerings in trade, business and consumer media as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated experience working with media to place stories across multiple platforms (online, print and broadcast).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to remain organized in a highly deadline driven, fast-paced environment.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven experience writing and editing for print, multi-media formats and digital social formats.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in PR program development.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to accomplish goals in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Must be a team player and able to work independently with limited instruction.
  • Must work exceptionally well with and influence organizational leaders.
  • Ability to effectively present plans, strategies, and results to senior leaders
  • Must be able to anticipate change, adapt quickly and able to thrive in a highly entrepreneurial atmosphere.

Requisite Education And Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, English, Journalism or Communications or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of public relations experience supporting a global consumer brand, either in-house or at an agency
  • Demonstrated experience in high-quality writing, pitching and creation of promotional materials including press releases, bulletins, schedules and other direct marketing items for PR programs and events.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal/external partners and cross-functional teams to provide critical insight into timelines and PR needs.
