About The Role
As an Associate Director of Social Strategy, you’ll be a senior strategy leader on client businesses and oversee the health of a business (social strategy, client relationships, team morale and profitability). You’ll be joining an award-winning social media team of 50+ in the US that combines creative content ideas with smart paid media strategy to drive business results. We represent the social media marketing capability within Ogilvy, and we develop integrated strategies that help transform our clients’ businesses through customer value and business value. We offer an end-to-end integrated offering pulling together creative, media and data expertise to deliver nimble and result-driven campaigns for our clients.

- Shape:Be a confident source of direction and a thought leader for both mindsets and craft among your client partners, strategy peers and the broader team to transform social experiences.
- Innovate:Open doors, hunt for opportunities to create transformative work and change.
- Advocate: Pull senior stakeholders along with you to prove the power of social-first work and thinking.
- Collaborate: Skillfully work as one integrated team with clients and SMEs across a network of high-performing WPP agencies to create impactful work.
- Build:Be relentless in your pursuit of helping our client have the best social media presence in the world through a focus on customer behavior and a passion for identifying what’s next.
Business/Operations Skillset
What You’ll Need
- Ability to lead a client business in totality with the capacity to manage more than one account - oversees health of the business (profitability, client relationships, team morale)
- Foundational understanding of our business, able to partner with the Operations/PM teams to give input on resourcing, scoping and staffing
- Strong understanding of the social offering as a whole and ability to present team capabilities
Management Skillset
- An effective manager that supports team member development and growth
- Ability to manage a team of strategists, overseeing all final deliverables like playbooks, briefs, strategies, measurement reports
- An effective interviewer and ability to assess and champion quality talent to join the team
Strategy Skillset
- Builds complex and multifaceted social strategies; shows strong leadership skills across the PR, Social and Influence teams and with account teams
- Solid understanding of brand and engagement planning; partner to brand strategy leads
- Aligns strategy plans with broader business goals and objectives, serving as a partner to the account team
- Oversees the development of performance reports, demonstrating ROI for clients and challenges junior team to identify actionable insights for optimization
- Develops and presents new business proposals to existing and new clients; ability to be the social new business lead for a pitch
- Fluent in technicalities of social creative and distribution, works to develop sophisticated brand, campaign and opportunistic strategies
Team Mindset
- Develops, leads and presents social brand recommendations, POVs, and thought leadership for the social team
- Collaborative with the influencer and paid media teams to ensure campaigns align with overarching strategies and satisfy primary objectives
- An active problem solver; understand you may be in scenarios of conflict that you need to lead/work through
- Exhibits a growth mindset, identifies opportunities for additional projects or increased scopes

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. Pay Range
$75,000—$180,000 USD
