Role Overview:

The Communications Coordinator plays a key role in the work of the department, leading administrative functions and supporting on-the-ground press and social media activations as needed. This is a great opportunity for an early career professional to be part of a high-performing and highly collaborative team. Previous team members in this role have grown within the department into roles with greater responsibility and autonomy on big, creative projects.

As an active member of the department, day-to-day responsibilities include tracking press coverage, maintaining clipbooks, and reporting media activity internally; keeping media and influencer lists clean and up-to-date; delving into media research for new projects; supporting contracting for the department; and ensuring multimedia assets are logged, organized, & easily accessible.

This is a hybrid role, with time split between remote and on-site work.

What you’ll get to do here:

  • Track press coverage and maintain clipbooks for various campaigns across Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts
  • Report media activity internally to a variety of stakeholders
  • Keep media and influencer lists clean and up to date; delve into media research for new projects to help ensure campaigns reach media who speak to as diverse an audience as possible
  • Support all freelance contracting for the department
  • Organize multimedia assets within Lincoln Center’s digital asset management system, ensuring they’re logged, tagged, and easily accessible
  • Field and coordinate press and cross-campus requests for capture
  • Staff press and social media activations on-the-ground, as needed
  • Actively participate in creative brainstorming for Communications campaigns across artistic, educational, and institutional projects
  • Assist with competitor/industry trend tracking/research; support press pitching where applicable

You’ll be a fit if you bring:

  • 2+ years of experience as a house manager in a theater or performance venue.
  • Exemplary customer service and hospitality skills combined with the motivation and interest to act as a role model to staff
  • Strong management skills with a proven ability to train, supervise and motivate staff
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks at once and demonstrate flexibility in light of shifting demands & priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of motivation, persistence, and patience in working with various groups of people
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary and on a regular basis
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
