GEICO is looking for a highly skilled Brand Social Strategist to bring the GEICO brand to life on social media. GEICO strives to deepen connection with our audience through purposeful and relevant content. We’re looking for a candidate who has their finger on the pulse of culture and understands how to roadmap and drive creative teams to create social content that ladders up to strategic business objectives.

You lead the development of social playbooks that clearly define how to use social media content to achieve brand goals and bring campaigns to life on social. You work in lockstep with the GEICO internal media team to build channel roles, audience personas, channel-specific content strategies, and content pillars. Guided by overarching brand strategy, you are responsible for planning, reporting, and managing the day-to-day execution of social creative strategy, distilling data and learnings into actionable insights to inform social-first creative ideas. You keep up with emerging channels and train team on trends and performance. And you help drive overarching strategic vision across GEICO Creative executions, ensuring cohesion across various campaign initiatives and objectives to ensure brand goals are met. This role reports to the Creative Brand Lead and may have direct reports.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in Social Strategy or related position
  • 1-2 years' experience managing and mentoring team members
  • Take a data driven approach to achieve business objectives
  • Experience in building Social Playbooks
  • Ability to vet creative Social executions against strategy
  • Experience working with internal and external creative teams
  • Experience managing Sprinklr account architecture including collaboration with internal and external stakeholders/instances
  • Fluency in each social platform and how to create platform perfect executions
  • Ability to harness the beloved GEICO brand and translate into effective strategy and engaging content
  • Understands the balance between paid and organic and the synergy between conversion and affinity

Core Responsibilities

  • Create strategic platforms/roadmaps and communications frameworks that inform
  • Where, when and how a brand should connect with the target audience
  • How tentpole moments, partnerships, influencer, and always-on brand work fit together to drive brand goals and create cohesion across social feeds
  • Long-term strategic planning with marketing counterparts across organic, paid, and influencer marketing
  • Product focuses versus when/where brand portfolio work is needed
  • Organic and paid media integration, ensuring we are planning strategically across buckets and identifying opportunities to streamline production and creative
  • Lead organic and paid creative briefs that provide both inspiration and clarity for creative teams
  • Distill findings into actionable insights for the creative team, and track learnings over time to help optimize channel and creative strategy over time
  • Social Listening: Monitor what people are saying about the brand, competitors, and our products
  • Content Development and Planning: Translate creative briefs and data into social-first ideas and content calendars
  • Content Calendar Management: Translate creative briefs, comms frameworks, and roadmaps into effective content calendars to inform creative and production
  • Translating briefs into social-first ideas: Partner with the creative team to create social-first ideas that answer the strategic brief
  • Review Creative: Review all creative ideas, ensuring ideas adhere to platform best practices, follow content calendar, and properly engage audiences
  • Turning data into actionable insights: Generate relevant and timely content ideas or insights based on platform trends/updates, and audience insights gleaned from social listening and community chatter. Report findings to senior creative strategists and creatives, distilling findings into creative briefs when necessary
  • Develop platform specific strategies and content streams that drive GEICO’s business objectives
  • Partners with brand and agency counterparts to amplify and enhance marketing campaigns via social media
  • Reviews all creative social media organic posts for approval
  • Works with research team to contextualize social competitive and benchmarking analysis
  • Concepts with fellow Social SWAT team members to create engaging and relevant content for Social
  • Collaborates with Marketing counterparts to identify new digital partnerships and influencer programs
  • Partners with the Paid team to ensure all content is consistent across social and digital
  • Audit historical GEICO successes to inform future successful territory
  • Works with communications, HR, and DEI to support cultural and corporate initiatives on social media
