The Role

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, the Manager, Global Brand Communications - Social will manage the communications strategy for HOKA with quarterly and monthly planning and overseeing hands-on execution of social media content on all HOKA social channels (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Strava, HOKA blog, etc.) to meet brand initiatives, customer engagement and commercial objectives. The requirements of the Manager, Global Brand Communications - Social will evolve as business needs do, therefore the candidate must be adaptable and be able to re-prioritize accordingly.

Working directly with the internal Global Brand Communications team, this role will also have high levels of communication and relationship management with various cross-functional departments, manage athlete/ambassador marketing support, monthly social analytics and reporting, and day-to-day management of social team. This role will also largely contribute to activation events and brand initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate to receive exposure to working directly with a Global Brand Communications team for a globally recognized brand. This role will serve as a key team member on the communications team with and work directly with the broader HOKA and Deckers team.

Your Impact

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the initial stages of developing monthly and quarterly social content calendars, as well as overseeing content execution.
  • Create and manage content distribution planning and rollout in partnership with social team and social agency.
  • Guide strategy for community management and distilling actionable insights from online discussions on social posts across all channels that can be applied to strategy.
  • Develop channel-specific engagement strategies and content calendars with social agency to scale social strategy, while maintaining healthy reach and engagement.
  • Responsible for the daily management of social team.
  • Provide guidance and best practices on the usage of social media deliverables in HOKA ambassador agreements with partnerships team and influencer briefs with agency to ensure proper and timely usage of deliverables in social media plans.
  • Become primary contact for vetting US GTM and SPOMA initiatives and how they are amplified on Global HOKA social channels (ie. Athlete updates and announcements, race coverage and recaps, Summer Mile Club, community run clubs, retail partner amplification, content shoots, etc.).
  • Support the ideation and strategy of additional HOKA social channels - for expansion (additional IG accounts) and exploring emerging channels being considered (Snapchat, Twitch, Reddit, etc.)
  • Responsible for social growth along with social team, and transforming social channels into brand awareness and revenue channels for HOKA.
  • Oversee monthly reporting on behalf of organic social team.
  • Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams to keep them up to date on latest plans, trends, strategies and changes.
  • Assist in management, planning and forecasting of organic social media GL annual budget.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest media and footwear industries, running and apparel brand and world news and communicate/discuss relevant updates with social, GBC, US GTM, Global Brand Marketing and SPOMA teams accordingly.
  • Identify relevant social media industry topics, conduct research and present findings to team to inform strategy moving forward.
  • Work cross-functionally with all company departments to bring social media to life (PR, brand partnerships, creative, sports marketing, lifestyle, customer service, etc.)

Who You Are

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external teams
  • Knowledgeable in current social media and content creator/influencer trends
  • Experience working effectively in complex global organizations, satisfying the needs of diverse constituents, and often working under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities
  • Highly motivated, a team player and motivated self-starter
  • Ability to use independent judgment in performing all duties of the position
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically
  • Highly intelligent, self-direction and self-confident leader

We’d love to hear from people with

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum related to Marketing or Communications
  • Must have at least 6 or more years of experience in Social Media Marketing
  • Experience in managing direct reports
  • Experience in blog writing, editing social copy
  • Experience in social media marketing analytics and reporting
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, project management and organizational skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Should have a positive, energetic working style
  • Passion and interest in footwear and/or an active lifestyle is a plus
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite CS6; InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a plus
  • Experience working with ambassadors or influencers
  • Valid Driver’s License

$105,000 - $115,000. The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
