Social Media Lead
Come join us as we expand our flagship program - Lean In - to reach middle-school-aged girls, and their parents and educators. We are looking for a Social Media Lead to develop Lean In Girls’ social presence and take Lean In's social media presence to the next level with this new program.
In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and assist the Head of Social, in developing a creative vision and strategy to grow our global social communities. You must be a skilled, creative storyteller with a passion for social media that can write and post energizing, nuanced social posts that inspire teen girls to overcome barriers and build leadership qualities. You also must bring a creative vision for social engagement, impeccable writing, and short-form video editing skills - along with a keen eye for trimming, transitions, hooks, and timing.

What You Will Do
- Drive and manage a creative, engaging editorial calendar for social that keeps our social presence bold, inclusive, relevant and on-trend
- Write, edit, and review nuanced social posts that resonate with an intersectional, and global audience, specifically for teen girls.
- Produce and edit compelling, dynamic, and creative video content for social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
- Work closely with the content team to create fast, digestible visual content via mobile device to turn educational or program information into social media content (TikTok, short-form videos, Reels, Stories, BTS)
- Define KPIs for social media overall and campaigns; analyze key metrics and adjust strategy as social media evolves
- Serve as a cross-functional leader across the team, working especially closely with the communications, marketing, design, product, and programs teams
- Drive Lean In’s influencer engagement and outreach in support of all public-facing campaigns/initiatives
- Use quantitative and qualitative insights to optimize our social media engagement and shape our digital marketing strategy
- Recommend changes that enhance the quality of content and achieve performance targets
What You Will Bring
- Shared appreciation for and commitment to the mission and work of Lean In, Option B, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program
- Commitment to being a strong advocate for equity, inclusion, and uplifting marginalized voices
- 5 years of experience in social media strategy and digital content creation, with 2 years of direct experience running and managing social media accounts end-to-end
- Experience ideating and managing still and video assets is highly preferred
- Understanding of storytelling and what makes engaging content on social
- Deep understanding of social media best practices and tools - consumer-facing company and social impact experience a plus
- Ability to identify trends that resonate with teen girls
- Experience writing thumb-stopping creative copy and distilling complex information into conversational, accessible messaging
- Experience with compiling social media metrics
- Knowledge of other digital marketing disciplines for integrated strategies (SEO, paid search, paid media)
- Strong understanding of the issues critical to girls and women, with the ability to build inclusive, resonant messaging narratives
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional environments and shift between the organization’s diverse subject areas seamlessly
What We Will Offer You
- The approximate salary range for this position is $93,000 - $109,000. The actual base salary offered may vary depending on candidate qualifications, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and analysis of internal pay equity. Employees are also eligible for a performance-based bonus equal to 10% of their annual salary.

Important Information
- This is a full-time, individual contributor role with a schedule that would require availability to work Pacific Time zone hours.
- We are a remote-first organization which means you can work from almost anywhere
- Occasional travel is required to attend organization-wide offsites and events
