Under a Communication Campaign Research and Evaluation practice area, the Health Communication Research division needs an experienced and innovative self-starter with a background in social listening. research-level rigor. This individual will conduct and support social listening activities, influencer identification, and media monitoring for several social listening projects in addition to supporting a federally funded COVID-19 public education campaign. This individual would function as a task lead managing research assignments across several projects, contribute to projects at the level of a senior researcher, and work with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Dashboarding: Use various social listening platform(s), APIs, and third-party solutions to develop SQL and advanced Boolean queries. Develop, refine, manage, and share client-facing dashboards, on-demand exports, and alerts (including troubleshooting). Ensure client-facing dashboards are well organized and error-free. Conduct weekly audits to monitor the quality of queries to reduce noise or irrelevant topics that may appear within the dashboard. Monitor the health and performance of components within dashboards to ensure data the data is displayed appropriately. Provide clients, stakeholders, internal staff, or partners with access to dashboards, exporting data, or create automated alerts or reports. Troubleshoot and assist clients, stakeholders, partners, or internal staff with their dashboard/social listening needs.
- Monitoring and Analysis: Utilize features within a range of social listening platforms and other resources to develop reports, alerts, or other notifications to detect emerging trends relevant to topics of interest. Anticipate and address client needs by identifying influential individuals, organizations, and audience groupings. Propose qualitative and quantitative research questions and design and implement analyses that best leverage social listening and other data to answer them. Interpret insights and trends in context and concisely present findings and recommendations.
- Influencer-Vetting: Vet potential campaign partner influencers and creators, coordinating with multiple teams.
Reporting and Communication: Prepare research reports, briefs, presentation decks, academic manuscripts, and other internal and external communications summarizing research methods, findings, and implications for strategies and messaging.
- Tailoring presentations and reports for a range of audiences from an array of scientific and non-scientific backgrounds leading and contributing to the development of research reports, briefs, presentation decks, and other external communications summarizing research methods, insights, and additional information supporting campaign messaging; tailor materials for a range of technical and non-technical audiences
- Communicating effectively and professionally with stakeholders with from a wide variety of backgrounds, including marketing, communications, public health, government, research, and social listening
- Develop proposals to bring in new business, including conducting analysis to inform proposals, historical audits, and refining standard operating procedures or other team templates.
Qualifications:
- SQL and Boolean query development.
- Working knowledge of social listening tools such as Brandwatch, CreatorIQ, Upfluence, Influential, Meltwater, Salesforce Social Studio, Sprinklr, and Sprout Social or predecessor tools.
- Degree in communications, public health, health communications, marketing, social psychology, sociology, data science, computer science, or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience, specifically in social media analysis.
- Experience managing tasks and projects while working closely with marketing teams.
- Strong proficiency and experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills appropriate to the audience.
- Demonstrate strong organization skills, attention to detail, and quality assurance.
- Applicants may be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for sensitive information access.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in applied research via social media supporting a federal contract.
- Experience working with government agencies such as FDA, CDC, NIH, HHS, CFPB, SBA or similar.
- Experience with qualitative data collection and analysis.
- Awareness of industry trends, best practices, and innovations and understanding the nuances of social data ecosystems when working with APIs or other third-party platforms to complement another primary data source.

Salary: $66,000-$80,000
