With the rapid roll out of an-electric future, new technologies and changing customer preferences, right now is one of the most dynamic times to work in our industry. At the same time the auto industry is undergoing wholesale change, so too are the ways consumers discover and engage with brands. Americans are spending nearly 13 hours a day online; platforms and influencers play increasingly important roles and the “circulatory system” of earned media has changed. Online influence, internet culture and the rising “creator economy” have recalibrated us from simple “digital communications” to how to communicate effectively – and earn attention and engagement - in a digital world.

Weber Shandwick Detroit is looking for a star Manager, Client Experience to work at the center of our production, creative and interagency teams – with an understanding of earned, social, and strong background in the production process.

The role requires the ability to drive GM Brand client storytelling initiatives from a content standpoint including, brand and partnership integrations, tech and innovation, corporate communications and internal communications, CSR and more. This candidate serves as the main point of contact and communication center for clients, internal teams and agency partners for all content/asset needs, starting from the early ideation stages to asset strategy, integration across teams and platforms, asset delivery and more.

This is not a Project Manager role, however those skills are required to effectively manage the team. The Manager of this team will need to be able to effectively drive production and the creative process, reviews and feedback and understand what questions to bring to clients and our internal team to ensure that we do not just deliver on the client request – but deliver content that drives earned and has a strong reach and/or ROI.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Stay up to date with how competitors are executing content creation/data visualization for major news moments as well as connecting relevant trends and insights
  • Drive the Client Input Brief
  • Engage necessary internal teams (strategy, earned, social, creative, client experience, influencer, etc.)
  • Manage asset needs, usage rights, talent/influencer integration, budget
  • Works side-by-side with the project manager to:
    • Review project scope, budget and deliverables
    • Kick off internal creative, strategy and/or influencer team(s)
    • Coordinate with social (if applicable)
    • Create asset trackers
    • Review assets and provide feedback internally
    • Manage client expectations, reviews and consolidate client feedback
    • Coordinate with the brand’s media site team for asset handoff

BASIC QUALIFICATION:

  • Experience in content production and asset management
  • Social media background a plus
  • BA or BS in communications or related field
  • 4 years of communications experience, preferably in an agency environment
  • Ability to think critically about account work, ask questions as needed and effectively solve problems
  • Exceptional judgment when working with team members, client contacts and partners
  • Be a strong hands-on, rubber-meets-road type that can organize projects and operate multi-faceted programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and internal team members across multiple levels
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes
  • Demonstrates potential to lead multiple accounts and interact with senior level clients
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; applicant must be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently and interdependently across a diverse organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, online services, and AP style writing is essential
