Title: Content Creator
Job Status: Full Time; exempt
Supervision by: Director of Communications and Public Relations
Job Summary: ‘Iolani School is looking for an experienced and innovative content creator who is enthusiastic and excited to share the stories of ‘Iolani School through print and digital media. In this role, the individual will be tasked with writing and creating various types of media for ‘Iolani School including but not limited to, newsletters, social networking sites, websites, advertisements, publications, collateral, and print materials. The individual will be responsible for creating new assets for the team to post, sourcing existing photography, taking photos, creating motion graphics or short videos, creating infographics, and concepting new ways to share the stories of ‘Iolani School.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead photographer for school events and activities.
- Create content for the school’s social media accounts.
- Collaborate with internal departments to promote their programs while maintaining brand consistency and voice.
- Work with the creative team to design and capture content for promotional materials.
- Assist in managing the Classnotes for the ‘Iolani School Bulletin.
- Support the creative team with graphics.
- Identify department needs and recommend new approaches to increase visibility and online presence where appropriate.
- Research industry-related trends and topics.
- Proactive in exploring new ways to promote ‘Iolani School in innovative ways.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Social Media Management, Design, or a similar field.
- Experience creating strong, engaging content (please submit a portfolio of work with your application).
- Must be available to work on some evenings and weekends.
- Excellent research, organizational and time management skills.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- The capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro.
- Basic knowledge of DSLR and natural lighting.
Physical Requirements: Attendance is required 8 hours/day. Some weekend and after hour attendance required. Extended sitting periods; full leg and arm mobility (walking, ability to access overhead shelves); ability to lift and carry 10-25 pounds; full range of head and neck movement; ability to see and hear with or without correction. All school employees must pass a fingerprinting background check and submit TB clearance.
