EVgo invests its capital to deploy EVgo chargers and provide services to others in the growing and evolving public and dedicated EV charging solutions space. As the company sites future charging stations and develops new business lines to serve the market and grow profitably, the team evaluates current and projected EV penetration trends and the needs and value-added services that will benefit drivers, OEMs, site hosts, fleets, and other stakeholders, building products and functionality on top of the EVgo charging network that provides accretive revenue streams and enhances EVgo’s competitive position in the market.
Position Summary:
The Head of Growth reports to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and is a Sr Director as part of EVgo’s leadership team responsible for top line growth in EVgo’s B2C retail revenue business. The Head of Growth is responsible for the entire customer lifecycle focused on acquiring EV drivers, converting them to EVgo customers, and driving repeat usage to deliver charger utilization growth on the EVgo public network. This leader would take a data-driven approach to create tests and experiments to positively influence the consumer funnel, customer lifetime value, and overall retail revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish the strategic growth vision: Build and communicate a comprehensive growth plan to help EVgo achieve its charger utilization and ambitious revenue goals.
- Lead market research & analysis: Analyze EV sales growth trends, and EVgo’s current acquisition, conversion and retention strategies, research competitors and talk to our customers to help inform your strategy.
- Optimize consumer acquisition funnel: Develop a customer acquisition strategy. Lead the cross-functional marketing team to drive effectiveness of our customer acquisition channels – paid ads, display ads, SEO, affiliate marketing, and influencer marketing.
- Drive conversion of EV driver prospects into paying customers: Own and improve how we convert EV drivers to EVgo customers. Partner closely with the product and UX teams to identify, test and roll out end-to-end product experience improvements with a focus on messaging, pricing, UX and customer experience. Design and execute campaigns to improve the conversion funnel.
- Drive customer retention: ensure our customers get to their “AHA” moment quicker, churn is kept low and LTV is increased.
- People leadership: Build the growth capability and hire a direct team to a/b test growth campaigns and scale using a data-driven approach. Hire, coach, inspire and evaluate team members to ensure each is contributing at the highest level; lead OKR development and manage those so that corporate OKRs are achieved.
- Track and review progress on revenue and lead the development of cross-cutting action plans to capture additional upside or enable course correction in each area.
- Contribute to the development of the overall market and product strategy and roadmap to facilitate the realization of company-wide revenue targets in alignment with internal stakeholders and in consideration of the dynamism of the market in which EVgo operates.
Candidate Profile
We seek a seasoned and collaborative commercial leader who will be energized by the dynamism inherent in the fast-growing electric vehicle sector with strong capabilities around both strategy and execution. The Head of Growth must lead a strategic vision for EVgo’s revenue growth via end-to-end consumer funnel management, and then drive the successful pursuit of this vision via test and scale approach, and data-driven decision-making.
- Leadership experience in developing and executing a growth strategy, and demonstrable experience in delivering revenue growth for a B2C high-growth business.
- Analytical mindset in developing a/b experiments to test and scale in partnership with the data analytics team.
- Strong combination of strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and creativity in incorporating the dynamic landscape of the renewable energy industry.
- Ability to lead a cross-functional team and effectively develop relationships with internal partners and stakeholders to execute effectively.
- An entrepreneurial drive, a collegial persona, strong financial acumen, creativity in problem-solving, and a willingness to wear many hats operating in a lean and fast-paced environment.
- MBA and experience in investment banking or management consulting / B2C consumer-technology business are preferred.

For job positions in CA, CO, and NYC, the estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $170,000 USD to $195,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location, in addition to a competitive base salary, discretionary target cash bonus, and restricted stock units (subject to Board Approval).
