Strategy and Business Development Manager
The Partner Strategy and Business Development team builds commercial arrangements that drive consumption and monetization at scale on Spotify through partnership with creators, publishers, and service providers in the creator economy. We are seeking a Strategy and Business Development Manager to join our team to focus on monetization.
The Strategy and Business Development Manager will support scaling revenue for creators and publishers through utilization and optimization of our advertising products and beyond, accelerating on-platform monetization and driving margin. This will include standardizing and scaling partnerships with our Megaphone team, supporting ads production adoption through new product innovation, and evaluating new revenue streams for creators. The ideal candidate is highly organized, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and has strong analytical skills as well as project management skills.
What you'll do
- Build frameworks to standardize and scale Megaphone partnerships, including close alignment of priorities and execution with the Ads organization
- Partner closely with our Partner Management team to establish productive and collaborative operating rhythm in pursuit of such Megaphone partnerships
- Drive execution in operationalizing scaled ad product adoption, including product/market fit assessments, developing deal structures and incentive alignments that accommodate both Spotify’s revenue objectives and real dollars for creators
- Support cross-functional workstreams to identify, research and evaluate high impact, strategic opportunities to grow Spotify’s ability to drive revenue for creators while delivering margin contribution
- Establish explicit performance KPIs pursuant to organizational priorities and OKRs for each partnership and rigorously analyze results to optimize for successes and to surface key lessons learned
- Support best-in-class cross-functional relationships in service of broad strategic alignment
- This role will be based in Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY
Who you are
- You have 5+ years of business development, management consulting, partnerships, corporate strategy, project management, and/or related media or client services experience
- You are comfortable using quantitative and qualitative data to build and drive strategy
- You are deeply intellectually curious
- You are energized by big, complex projects and working closely with multiple cross-functional teams
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and high stakes situations and are comfortable taking accountability for KPIs
- You have outstanding written communications skills with strong attention to detail, which includes generating written deliverables for both day-to-day working groups and executive audiences (i.e., presentations, briefs, working docs, etc.)
- You ideally have professional experience in digital media, though it’s not required
- The United States base range for this position is $102,402-$128,002, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays. These ranges may be modified in the future.
