Make an Impact
Reporting to the VP of PR, Social Media and Influencer Management, the Sr Manager of PR, Events and Collaborations will lead global consumer PR efforts for Fossil Group and is responsible for setting the strategic vision to drive consumer brand awareness, earned media value and brand fame. This leader is a cultural connector and big idea thinker with the ability to work effectively across the organization and champions PR for the brands and regions. The ideal candidate brings strong Public Relations & Cultural knowledge from the fashion or lifestyle apparel and accessories industry.
What You’ll Do PR Focus
- Identify the strategic needs for PR and develop a global PR roadmap and oversee the execution of all PR efforts globally with a focus on driving awareness and demand in the U.S.
- Define seasonal strategies to effectively write and pitch brand and product stories to media for all Owned Brands (Fossil, Michele, Skagen, Zodiac and Misfit) with ad hoc project support on priority Portfolio business (Michael Kors, Armani and Diesel)
- Oversee editorial execution including product previews, pitching, sample trafficking, gifting and event
- Provide counsel and leadership to regional teams in Europe, Asia and the Americas
- Develop all seasonal PR materials to support the regional team
- Responsible for managing PR budget and spend
- Partner with social media team on developing relevant and sustainable influencer programs and activations
- Identify and develop key partnerships with Collaborations teams that drive brand heat. In addition, support the collaborations team on amplification for all licensed watch partnerships
- Ensure team is motivated, clear on vision/goals and their role in achieving these, and effectively executing and delivering results
- Management of both in house and agency partners for assigned scope of work
- Collaboration with Corporate PR team on cross over brand and group matters, including crisis communications management
- Build measurement into PR programs, track insights and continuously improve efficiency and impact of investments
- Innovate strategies that support brand moments with focus on brand-building, storytelling, brand fame and customer engagement
Your Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field
- 7+ years of experience in Public Relations and cultural marketing; combined agency and corporate PR experience highly preferred. Fashion and/or Luxury brand experience is a must.
- A cultural connector, you have established relationships with media, content developers and press outlets and are “in the know” with regards to how brands engage with culture and have access to “right people, right moments”
- Demonstrated ability to connect the dots, where others cannot, and create sustainable and impactful ideas and opportunities. Ability to solve old and new problems in new ways and gain internal alignment from the top down
- Results-oriented self-starter who can set strategy and drive execution with a “roll up the sleeves” approach
- Entrepreneurial and ambitious with a “can-do” mentality
- Strong written communication, negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships and work successfully in a highly collaborative environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and keen ability to establish trust, influence and develop effective relationships with people across an organization
- Solid leadership with experience leading cross-functional teams and passion to inspire, coach and mentor high performing teams
- Ability to adapt, take calculated risks, accept ambiguity, test, iterate, and pivot on ideas
- Ability to collect relevant data and draw conclusions for holistic decision-making
- Knowing one’s exact goals and targets, and how to achieve them, aided by the guidance of leaders
- Willingness to embrace the possibilities of the digital age by integrating multiple perspectives
- Enable people at all organizational levels to make executive decisions
- Ability to balance customer/employee data collection and maintain data privacy and security
