Green Our Planet is the largest non-profit school gardening and conservation organisation in the US. Based in Las Vegas, NV, Green Our Planet builds outdoor school gardens and indoor hydroponics gardens. Our mission is not to build a business but a movement, a movement to build healthy, thriving communities that celebrate the potential and the diversity of all humans and living beings on the planet.
What is your role?
Green Our Planet is looking for a mission-driven sales and marketing leader to drive the growth of our hydroponics and garden programs at schools, libraries, and within communities. As the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, you will be a senior-level executive who provides management, leadership, and vision to ensure Green Our Planet meets its short-term and long-term revenue objectives.
We need someone who can build a high performing sales and marketing team from the ground up, creating an environment where people do great work and have fun accomplishing goals together. You will be responsible for establishing and implementing the infrastructure needed to grow to a $10M budget through fundraising and sales.

What are your responsibilities?
SALES
- Develop and implement a sales strategy for HydroConnect and GardenConnect Programs.
- Build and lead a sales team, conduct market research, and evaluate customer needs.
- Create and manage a sales tracking system using Hubspot to seek new sales opportunities.
- Conduct regular client visits and generate customised proposals to close deals.
FUNDRAISING
- Design a development strategy for Green Our Planet, identify funding needs and targets, and hire a Development Director.
- Form and manage a development team, conduct research and prospecting, and write and archive all proposals.
- Develop and implement a stewardship program to cultivate deeper ties with donors.
- Connect with existing donors and develop long-term relationships with prospects.
- Oversee the management and execution of the annual Farmer’s Market event and train and mentor development staff.
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
- Review and adjust the current marketing and communications strategy.
- Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to develop communications strategies that broaden programmatic reach.
- Develop and refine Green Our Planet’s core messages for consistency.
- Identify significant media and public policy issues to support the organisation's work and create plans to leverage them.
- Serve as executive editor for the organisation's website and oversee responses to inquiries.
What are your qualifications?
- A Bachelor’s degree/Master’s preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in a nonprofit organisation or executive level sales experience with a for profit company; demonstrated success in a development or sales function.
- Proficient in using Hubspot, Mighty Pro (LMS System), EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), Google Suite, Trello, and Slack.
- Proven experience in creating and executing successful sales strategies for similar organisations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and lead a sales team.
- Proficiency in market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs.
- Ability to make regular client visits to demonstrate the full experience of the product offerings, either in-person or virtually.
- Proven experience in fundraising, including identifying funds needed, preferred funding targets, and approaches.
- Experience in building and managing a development team to conduct research, prospecting, and application to multiple donor sources.
- Proficiency in marketing and communications strategy development and refinement, including collaboration with senior leadership and external partners.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and train development staff and communicate fundraising goals and progress throughout the organisation.
