About The Role

The Chicago Bears are hiring an International Social Media Content Creator to support the team’s increased international social content efforts. This position is responsible for creating content, with primary focus on graphic design and video production, for the club’s international social media presence, particularly for the Bears’ International Home Marketing Area in Spain and UK. This role is part of the Social Media team with cross-functional connections to the entire Marketing & Communications department. The ideal candidate is passionate about social media, international marketing and content creation.

This position is full-time, salaried position. The role is temporary, lasting 12 months from the start date. Hours may be non-traditional supporting evening and weekend events as well as working gamedays. This position would work primarily at the team’s headquarters in Lake Forest, IL plus at Soldier Field for gamedays, with the ability for some remote work.

The Chicago Bears, a charter member of the NFL, are one of the most popular and storied franchises in North American sports. The team has made it a priority to engage its fans not only nationally, but also internationally. With the introduction of the NFL’s International Home Marketing Area (IHMA) program, the team has continued to prioritize those efforts, especially in Spain and UK. Reaching and engaging with international fans through social media is a critical component to the IHMA program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the integration of the Chicago Bears’ international social media strategy and execution in order to reach international fan bases.
  • Graphic design and video editing – create and edit compelling assets that are an extension of the overall Chicago Bears brand and resonate with international fans.
  • Produce and/or translate content in Spanish and for Spain markets, particularly for @Bears_ES accounts on Twitter, Instagram, and on ChicagoBears.com.
  • Collaborate and brainstorm within the Chicago Bears’ Social Media team and agency, as well as cross-functionally with Content & Innovation, Marketing and Brand Creative within the Bears organization.
  • Elevate authentic, international storylines of the Chicago Bears organization, players, alumni and fans in order to connect and grow the affinity of the club.
  • Assist in monitoring relevant and timely opportunities to appropriately interact with fans, players, alumni and current events, especially as it relates to the Spain and UK markets.
  • Research and analyze social media trends, emerging platforms and platform updates, especially as it relates to international trends, social media, graphic design and video production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 1-2 years of experience in graphic design or video production
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design and/or video production
  • Experience in capturing and/or editing high-quality photo and video content, using a cell phone and/or DSLR camera
  • Demonstrated experience in creating high-quality and timely content for social platforms; monitoring and publishing content for social media is a plus
  • Fluent in Spanish and English; knowledge of Spanish culture a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in copy writing and/or translating content in Spanish
  • Experience covering sports or other events is a plus
  • Comfortable with the potential to travel, interview with players/alumni and work gamedays and special events, which include nontraditional hours in nontraditional settings such as holidays, evenings, and weekends
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and complete multiple projects and activities with simultaneous deadlines
