Associate Director, Rest of World
Description
Good storytelling starts with great listening. At Audible, that means each role and every project has our audience in mind. Because the same people who design, develop, and deploy our products also happen to use them. To us, that speaks volumes.
About This Role
Reporting to the Head of ROW, this position will play a pivotal role in helping shape the strategic approach for Audible’s growth in marketplaces outside of our dedicated, ‘boots on the ground’ services in our International marketplaces (DE, FR, IT, ES, UK, CA, AU, IN, JP, BR and MX). Currently, more than 5% of Audible’s global member base comes from 160+ countries where we have no dedicated service; the Associate Director, Rest of World will work directly with the Head of ROW as well as cross-functionally to evaluate a range of marketplace entry models and approaches that will ultimately define our strategic roadmap to drive profitable, long-term revenue and audience growth for Audible, leveraging existing content catalogues in more than 40 languages.
As a Associate Director, Rest of World, you will...
- Work closely with the Head of ROW to investigate, design, and ultimately execute a multi-year strategy for the optimal approach for entry into rest of world marketplaces
- Work with cross-functional partners including GIDS, Finance and Tax to analyze audience, marketing, CX, legal/tax/policy implications, as well as the operational and financial viability of alternative approaches
- Work with our existing marketplaces as well as Product, Product Marketing, Consumer Research, Retail, Tech, Finance/Legal/Accounting/Tax (FLAT) and HR teams to identify the right expansion opportunities and ideal customer experiences adjacent to our existing dedicated services, optimizing growth
- Help identify dependencies, feasibility and downstream considerations associated with alternative approaches
- Work with US and International Content teams (and GIDS) to analyze our content catalogue and propose new ways to leverage our existing English, Spanish and local-language catalogues in the US and rest of world marketplaces in the short and long term
- Keep up-to-date with global expansion trends and competitive models adopted by other global entertainment and media services (including Amazon GME businesses) with a view on what approaches have (or have not) been successful
- Build relationships with Corporate Development and Business Development teams to track and help prioritize partnership and inorganic growth opportunities that will drive audience growth, revenue, brand and content exposure in rest of world marketplaces
- Consider and explore the utilization of new technologies to build meaningful offerings in long-tail languages that deliver audience, revenue and brand/content exposure
- Together with Head of ROW, build relationships with Amazon teams in other GME businesses that could inform and support future collaborative expansion approaches, leveraging infrastructure, tech architecture and expertise
