TITLE: Digital Marketing Coordinator - Full Time Seasonal

STATUS: Full-time seasonal, mid-Spring through September 1, 2023. Remote work possible through May; some weekly in-person work required June–August.

REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing

DEPARTMENT: Marketing

WORKS WITH: Chief Marketing Officer, Director of Marketing, Digital Marketing Manager, Audience Development Coordinator, Public Relations & Communications Coordinator, seasonal staff and interns

PAY: $750/week, paid every two weeks. Onsite room and board (three meals/day) provided beginning June 1

Jacob’s Pillow seeks a Digital Marketing Coordinator to join the Marketing Department to develop, implement, and support digital marketing strategy that promotes the organization's mission and pillars of programming, including performances and artist residencies; professional training programs through The School at Jacob’s Pillow; Community Engagement programs; and Archives and audience engagement programs.

This role will work closely with the Director of Marketing and directly support the Digital Marketing Manager on the deployment of email campaigns and automations, assisting with social media campaigns and channels in collaboration with the Social Media Consultants, and contributing an active voice to all Marketing department efforts to reach new and existing audiences in clear, engaging, and creative ways.

Remote work is possible for this position leading up to June 1, 2023. From early June through September 1, this position requires routine weekly responsibilities in-person (scheduled in advance) during summer working hours at the annual Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival.

NOTE: Although this contract will end on September 1, 2023, Jacob’s Pillow will provide notification by July 1 of whether this position will convert in September to an ongoing full-time, year-round position (remote work, with summer in-person responsibilities) with benefits and on a negotiated salary—and if so, will encourage the staff member in this position to consider joining Jacob’s Pillow year-round by applying for the converted position.

Responsibilities

  • Email Marketing: Serve as lead writer and creator of Jacob’s Pillow email campaigns and email automations, including newsletters, promotional content, fundraising appeals, and customer service emails, supervised by the Digital Marketing Manager. Work with the Philanthropy department to track and implement email banner ads from Business Partners.
  • Digital/Social Advertising and Campaign Analytics: In collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager and Social Media Consultants, work with the Pillow’s digital marketing firm, Capacity Interactive, to create digital ad strategy and implement social media initiatives, including management of Facebook and Instagram campaigns. Support organic and paid social media campaigns by creating content, writing ad copy, and defining audience targeting segments and goals, alongside regular reporting. In collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager, assist in managing CRM efforts aligned with audience segmentation and focused on acquisition as well as customer retention and loyalty. Analyze and report on the effectiveness of KPIs and digital marketing efforts using Google Analytics and other analytic tools.
  • Website CMS: Support the Director of Marketing and Digital Marketing Manager with website projects, including webpage creation and editing, online calendar updates and regular website maintenance, assistance in development and implementation of SEO strategy, and suggesting areas of improvement.
  • Team Collaboration: Work proactively alongside the Audience Development Coordinator, Marketing / Digital Media intern, and seasonal staff during Festival months (May-August), including on the creation and distribution of signage, webpages, and email campaigns. Assist with providing training and strategic support to interns, seasonal staff, and year-round staff as needed. Assist in creating seamless patron experience regarding access to on-demand digital content. Protect brand voice and integrity in all published and digitally distributed content.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with alternative professional experiences and qualifications equivalent to those listed below are encouraged to apply.

  • Previous digital marketing and/or arts organization experience
  • Basic HTML knowledge
  • Experience working with email marketing and automation services, such as MailChimp, Constant Contact, Wordfly, or Prospect2
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems, including WordPress
  • Experience working with CRM platforms such as Tessitura or Salesforce
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, with experience in managing multiple projects at one time
  • Availability for 6-day workweeks during the Festival
  • Experience working with PhotoShop, InDesign, and other Creative Suite programs a plus
  • Passion for and knowledge of dance and the performing arts a major plus
