Social Media Marketing Specialist
SUMMARY
Discover The Palm Beaches is seeking an experienced and accomplished social media professional to become our new Social Media Specialist in the Marketing department. The Social Media Specialist reports to the Director of Social & Content. This highly creative, technically savvy marketer will be responsible for ongoing community management and growth of Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB) social media presence as well as possess content creation skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media
Collaborates with Social Media, Digital Marketing, Marketing Departments, as well as other cross-function teams, to develop creative content, analyze engagement and convert social media community members to visitors of The Palm Beaches.
Serves as primary online community manager for Discover The Palm Beaches social channels.
Collaborates and creates compelling social media content, including multi-media materials and video, to engage our community utilizing the brand voice.
Monitors and responds to posts and inquiries in a timely manner.
Manages social media accounts for selected DTPB executives.
Works cross-functionally as a social media advocate, ensuring social is thoughtfully factored into partnerships, experiences, and campaigns.
Provide thoughtful insights and identify trends and tools to Company leaders.
Creates and manages the Social Media Calendar in line with Marketing Department Calendar
Provides regular reporting of key social media metrics.
Collaborates with other hospitality destination organizations (i.e. hotels and resorts) to mutually enhance our social media presence
Provides administrative support such as invoices, in-kind and expense entries and other duties as assigned.
Attends various destination events including grand openings, press events, organizational meetings, Influencer visits, Convention Center events as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
An undergraduate degree in business, marketing, advertising, journalism or hospitality required or equivalent related work experience.
3-5 years of social media experience with tactical execution in a corporate environment with consumer-facing channels/messages
Active and well-rounded personal presence in social media, with a command of each network and their best practices
Must be self-motivated, an ongoing learner and committed to staying current on ever changing social technology platforms and trends.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Passion for creating innovative and engaging social experiences.
Ability to work collaboratively and be an integral part of an overall team environment.
Ability to be detail-oriented in a multi-tasking production environment.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Experience with issues management and/or crisis response.
Urgency to meet deadlines.
Travel and Tourism / Hospitality experience is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work for the Manager, Social Media does require monitoring and engagement on weekends and during the evenings, with some business travel.
