Do you love the overlapping opportunities between social media and public relations? Have strong writing skills but would love to coordinate influencer and media visits and track reporting data to show success? Then maybe you are the hybrid unicorn we’re seeking. We’re looking for a junior pro who wants to learn and grow with hands-on experience. You bring a basic understanding of best practices and trends in social media marketing and PR. You enjoy being creative and can work equally well in a group and independently/remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing social media profiles and daily community management responsibilities for various clients and industries
  • Implement social media strategies across multiple channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and potentially additional channels (Snapchat, Tik Tok, YouTube, etc.)
  • Support in the creation of shareable content appropriate for social networks
  • Assist in the creation and planning of social editorial calendars and posting schedules
  • Research and identify influencers for client campaigns via social media platforms
  • Assist with reporting on social engagement/growth metrics for clients
  • Monitor editorial calendars, calendar listing, news developments, and client coverage on a proactive basis
  • Assist in media list building and maintaining databases relevant and other account-related research
  • Create Coverage Book reports with clips and summaries as needed by the team and client
  • Draft first-round client materials, such as news releases, media alerts, fact sheets, pitching, pr initiatives, etc.
  • Take meeting notes and action items during client meetings

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in communications/marketing is preferred, but not required
  • 2-3 years of relevant industry experience required
  • Excellent understanding of social media marketing with some experience on social media platforms
  • Familiarity with social media reporting and standard social metrics (engagement, following, conversions, etc.)
  • Understanding of public relations discipline with some relevant experience
  • Effective writing skills that can be applied to the following mediums: social posts, press releases, and other communications
  • Previous experience with Canva, Sprout Social, WordPress, Muck Rack/Cision a plus
  • Display a clear understanding of client expectations and goals
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Flexible, collaborative, and driven to achieve results
  • Strong self-motivation and work ethic

Compensation

  • Pay range for this position is $45,000 to $65,000 based on location and experience.
