Summary:
It’s an exciting time at Mutual of America! As the Social Media Strategist, you will develop organic content strategies that drive objectives across our organic social media channels and lead our companywide digital marketing integration efforts. You’ll be responsible for using data to develop content that elevates our brand and excites customers and prospects. You will play a key role in launching innovative integrated digital marketing strategies to support teams across Mutual of America including web, strategic and corporate marketing, sales, and others. This role will also help build Mutual of America’s overall digital marketing capabilities and support future growth for the company.
Responsibilities:
- Advancing the end-to-end social media strategy, execution, and growth for organic social channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube)
- Managing daily operations and initiatives, including editorial calendars, content development/execution (images, posts, and videos), and engagement with users
- Developing specific, measurable objectives, as well as innovative strategies to build the Company’s social media presence and promote the Company’s brand
- Writing dynamic and compelling content that demonstrates correct voice, subject matter expertise and best practices to effectively reach and engage users – role supports all aspect of social media from organic & paid social channels to community management and enablement (which include social selling, HR, reputation management, etc.)
- Influencer content and campaign management–own and evolve our influencer program from ideation, through launch, reporting, and optimization. Must be able to project manage multiple objective driven influencer campaigns across social channels.
- Support reputation management and social customer care programs with written and video content that advances our strategy, meets compliance policies, while reflecting our tone of voice
- Conceive, create, and publish organic content on ALL social channels including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube & Twitter
- Collaborate on digital and integrated marketing campaigns with various marketing groups including digital marketing, creative/content, production, and data analytics
- Identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) for organic and paid advertising campaigns
- Monitoring effective benchmarks and best practices for measuring campaigns, as well as trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy
- Managing and maintaining the monitoring and analytics systems to track engagement and results, and creating reports as needed
- Coordinating and routing materials for internal review, collecting feedback and obtaining necessary internal approvals
- Occasional monitoring of social activity for brand and service issues requiring immediate attention and ensuring that crisis communications plans are effectively followed
- Manage priorities and budgets for a team of freelance designers, writers, and social strategists
Required Qualifications:
- Hybrid role, 3 days in office + 2 remote per week.
- Must live within commutable distance from our NY headquarters or our office in Boca Raton, FL
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or New Media
- At least 2-3 years of digital marketing experience specializing in social media and/or community management
- 1+ years of marketing experience in financial services
- Hands on experience managing developing and managing organic social media campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube, in the financial services industry/regulated environment
- Experience with and strong knowledge of social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy, and an ability to perform strategic elements related to this role
- Extensive experience writing and creating social content including posts, blogs, articles, infographics, polls/surveys, testimonials, livestreams, and videos
- Creative thinker with analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Strong supervisory and project management skills with experience executing programs quickly, accurately, efficiently and with an attention to detail
- Proven ability to navigate various channels seamlessly and determine impact of campaigns
- Proficient with social media management software and social listening tools such as Hootsuite, Brandwatch, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator); Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience working with Legal and Compliance departments in getting approvals on social media content as well as managing overall corporate social media policies
- Must provide 2-3 samples of work including social media campaigns and content
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to create and implement integrated marketing plans across multiple distribution channels including organic and paid social, email, and paid media
- Expertise in executive thought leadership and leveraging social platforms to further drive visibility and engagement for individuals
- Experience leading, developing, and executing campaigns in support of Influencer, Reputation Management, and Social Selling programs.
- Proficient in Google Analytics, Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools such as Data Studio
- Experience working with Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, and other event tracking mechanisms.

The salary range below describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this role. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, whereby total compensation may exceed this range depending on individual and / or company performance.
Base Salary Range:
$80,000 - $95,000
