Sports & Entertainment Intern – Las Vegas Grand Prix

The Sponsorships team is chartered with bringing T-Mobile’s Brand and Network story to life via strategic national and local partnerships. The Sports and Entertainment intern will support the sponsorships team across key elements of T-Mobile’s newfound partnership with the Las Vegas Grand Prix – one of the biggest moments in the 2023 sports calendar.

The individual will assist both the Sports and Entertainment team with overall event planning, executive briefings, and will lead key elements of the local activation plan, including but not limited to, development of race day fan experiences and retail-driving extensions. The individual should have a general knowledge of the sponsorship industry and a sound understanding of core marketing principles. The individual should bring a willingness and ability to work collaboratively as they will be tasked with working cross-functionally with key internal and external partners. The individual will report into both the Sports and Entertainment lead for T-Mobile’s Sponsorship group.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of T-Mobile’s Las Vegas Grand Prix sponsorship activation strategy
  • Lead cross-functional planning and execution of key local extensions (e.g., onsite fan experience, retail)
  • Support planning of music and talent / influencer activations
  • Develop comprehensive presentations, briefs, and other relevant materials for cross-functional and executive needs
  • Build relationships with properties, agencies, vendors, and key internal stakeholders
  • Lead sponsorship measurement process
  • Manage activation budget pertaining to relevant activities

Qualifications

  • General understanding of the wireless industry, 5G technology and how Telcos are showcasing 5G via sports partnerships
  • General understanding of Sponsorship marketing and how companies use these relationships to drive business outcomes
  • Interest and/or general knowledge of the Formula 1 landscape a plus
  • Interest and/or general knowledge of the music industry and talent / influencer relations a plus
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management, resource management, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with cross-functional partners
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to travel

  • Internship will start early / mid May
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law. The CDC currently defines “fully vaccinated” as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
