Life at Plume

At Plume, we believe that technology isn't about moving faster, it's about making life's moments better. Which is why we've built the world's first, and only, open and hardware-independent service delivery platform for smart homes, small businesses, enterprises, and beyond. Our SaaS platform uses WiFi, advanced AI, and machine learning to create the future of connected spaces—and human experiences—at massive scale.

We now deliver services to over 45 million locations globally and have managed over 2.2 billion devices on our platform. We're expanding rapidly, pioneering a new category, and we achieved our Series F funding in just four years. Our customers include many of the world's largest Communications Service Providers (CSPs) who look to Plume to help them evolve their smart home offerings while gleaning insights from their own data.

With a bias for action and a love for being trailblazers, the team at Plume embodies a combination of relentless curiosity and imaginative innovation. We challenge ourselves to think in ways that other companies don't, work to do what should be done (rather than what can), and if we can't do it exceptionally well, we don't do it. It's how we've assembled a team of world-class builders, thinkers, and doers. And it's how we're reinventing what's possible every day.

We are a late-stage startup technology company that leverages our core smart home, Mesh wifi, and network management software platform to provide wifi-based solutions to consumers, small businesses, and communication service providers. We are seeking a Director of Marketing Communications to lead the marketing communications efforts at our company. This position will report directly to the CMO and will own the development and execution of world-class campaigns and brand marketing programs in both consumer and B2B contexts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing communications plans, including creative and growth execution across digital and experiential marketing, for both launch and lifecycle marketing.
  • Own the development and execution of all aspects of brand marketing, including messaging, positioning, and creative direction.
  • Responsible for executing marketing campaigns across various channels, including email, social media, and paid advertising. They work closely with the marketing communications team to ensure campaigns are aligned with the overall marketing strategy and objectives.
  • Developing and executing the overall brand strategy, in collaboration with Product Marketing counterparts, to develop market-ready final messaging, positioning, and creative direction.
  • Manage a full-stack marketing communications team, including campaign managers, growth marketers, and brand marketers.
  • Develop and implement measurement plans to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing programs and campaigns, and adjust as necessary to optimize performance.
  • Drive customer acquisition and retention across SEO, paid advertising, and email marketing to grow the customer base and increase revenue.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, sales, customer success, and engineering to develop marketing strategies and programs that drive adoption and engagement of our products.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including agencies, vendors, and media outlets.
  • Ensure all marketing communications are aligned with the company's overall brand, mission, and values.
  • Lead the development of internal communications, including all-hands meetings, executive messaging, and employee newsletters.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing communications, capable of executing within both a B2B and consumer products context.
  • Experience managing a team of marketing professionals, including campaign managers, growth marketers, and brand marketers.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and adoption.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and experience with tools such as Google Analytics, SEMRush, and HubSpot.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling messaging and stories that resonate with different audiences.
