Position Overview
The Vice President (VP) of Association Solutions Creative Services is responsible for managing all aspects of MCI USA association clients’ marketing including campaigns, content and design as well as leading and developing the team of content, marketing, editorial, and design talents in this Division.
This leader oversees the AVP and Directors and works closely with our Association clients and other shared service Association Solutions, and MCI USA marketing leaders on staffing assignments and overall management of the marketing and communications functions. The VP of Marketing and Communications works to ensure we are setting and delivering the strategic direction and providing the day-to-day oversight needed for ongoing effective marketing and communications strategies and campaigns, project management, and measurement. Experience working at an association management company or marketing agency is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead business development to support revenue growth goals for Association Solutions Creative Services through project-based consulting work.
- Pioneer and implement measurable strategies that grow the organizations we support
- Develop channel, segment, and market strategies to enable targeted marketing
- Continue to strengthen our clients’ brands, personality, and voice to build relevance and equity among target audiences, and maintain and improve the reputation of the organizations and their stakeholders
- Represent MCI USA externally as a thought leader in marketing, communications and design strategy within the association market.
- Mobilize the team to deliver high ROI results with speed and efficiency
- Lead team to deliver creative, award-winning work
- Empower and motivate stakeholders and establish and achieve short and long-term marketing goals while maintaining stability of email and social media reputation
- Develop and execute high-ROI, marketing programs
- Work cross-functionally with client and volunteer leaders to make sure all marketing promotions can be and are delivered with a high level of quality
- Work collaboratively with divisional peers to ensure the overall success of the client relationship
- Develop and implement marketing templates and standardization across client portfolio
- Oversee staffing and hiring assignments as new clients enter, other clients exit, and project-based consulting work begins and ends
- Works closely with MCIs AVP, Design Services and AVP, Content Services, and Director of Marketing to ensure accurate estimating of out-of-scope work and with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely client billing
- Management of proposals and budget for MCI USA Association Solutions Creative Services
Qualifications
- Experience leading a team inclusive of marketing, content, editorial, and design roles
- Ability to define goals and drive marketing results
- Effectively communicate work and outcomes
- Deep, demonstrable understanding of marketing strategy development
- Proven leadership experience carrying out marketing efforts, including planning, prioritizing, and implementing strategy
- Strong knowledge of paid digital advertising (Meta, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google, etc.) Social media strategy and influencer marketing expertise
- PR and media relations experience
- Ability to work within a limited budget, manage competing priorities, and pivot quickly
- Deep skills in marketing campaign development, execution and leveraging data and analytics (CPC, CTR, open rate, CPL, CPA, EPC, etc.) to improve results and increase ROI
- A proven track record of aligning stakeholders around brand and marketing strategy, while building a symbiotic partnership with sales and distribution partners
- Experience working cross-functionally to ensure marketing programs are in line with organizational objectives
- An entrepreneurial, agile, creative mindset
- Experience in building brand awareness and recognition
- A reputable marketing leader and an effective public speaker
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Customer-centric and can identify and meet customer needs
- Metrics-driven with the ability to draw insight from complex marketing data
- Experience in managing a P&L, financial statement and projection planning literacy and other managerial financial skills strongly preferred.
Educational & Technical Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing or related discipline
- 10+ years of marketing experience, preferably with associations or marketing agency
- 5+ years of marketing leadership experience
- 5+ years of CRM, AMS and marketing automation platform experience
Supervisory Responsibility
The VP of Creative Services will directly supervise 3-5 direct reports and a collective team of 15-20 creative talents.
Travel
The VP of Creative Services will need to travel both domestically and internationally to select meetings.
Fiscal Duties
- The VP will work directly with client leaders to propose marketing budgets and activities, as well as fiscal duties related to soliciting and receiving bids, processing invoices, and operating within established budgetary parameters.
- The VP will work with prospective new clients to scope and price services
- Budget management in collaboration with President and Finance
Physical Requirements
Must Be Able To
- Remain sitting or standing in a stationary position for many hours per day onsite
- occasionally lift, move or carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
- frequently move about inside a facility space.
