At the Coalition for African Diaspora Student-Athletes (CADSA) our mission is to unite and support Black student-athletes. With our collective voice, we advocate for social and academic upward mobility by fostering connections, education, and access to resources. CADSA ensures that Black student-athletes are welcomed, supported, and heard, while enhancing the overall student-athlete experience through programming that promotes allyship and is inclusive. To help us continue our growth, we’re seeking a driven Advocacy Coordinator to join our team. As an ideal candidate, you have proven management experience in a highly dynamic and diverse setting. Your organizational, communication, and leadership skills are second to none and you enjoy developing solutions that push innovative boundaries.
The Social Media team is responsible for managing all CADSA social accounts aka the face of CADSA. The responsibilities of the team are distributed amongst specific roles.
Objectives of this Role
- Connecting with CADSA internal teams to discuss desired content
- Managing activity and up keep of various social accounts
- Creating visual and literary content for social posts
- Generating topics and content to post
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Generating topics and literary content to post
- Connecting with internal CADSA teams to discuss relevant topics to post
- Connect with CADSA teams to discuss upcoming events to post about
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong writing skills with exceptional grammar and spelling abilities
- High attention to detail with the ability to vet out typos and errors seamlessly
- Strong working knowledge of important topics and events related to the BIPOC student-athlete and general BIPOC community
- Proven ability to plan and manage operational process for maximum efficiency and productivity
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of resources that support the BIPOC and student-athlete community
Preferred Qualifications
- Obtained or pursing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success
- Proven experience writing articles & research on the Black community
- Studied African American Studies or related subjects
- Experience in marketing and public relations
