About the role:

In this role you are leading a global team as a player/coach. You will focus on three priorities - winning new business, delivering brilliant work for existing clients and making sure Whalar is a "learn it all " organization focused on building the creator economy and driving growth for our clients, our employees and of course the creators.

Here's what you'll do day-to-day:

  • Lead a global team and provide structured guidance to build and strengthen Whalar's overall strategic capabilities
  • Develop a global approach to delivering strong creative briefs and strategic foundations for a diverse group of clients and businesses, including new business opportunities and existing brand clients
  • Lead the evaluation of creative concepts and communication opportunities on both new business and existing client work and provide sound feedback and recommendations
  • Unlock powerful modern strategic frameworks that can support creative ideation and brand storytelling specifically for delivering world-class work within the creator economy
  • Work with the strategy team to develop a global approach to integrating data-driven insights in a logical flow to deliver a compelling and enlightening story to new and prospective clients
  • Ensure the team is expert at identifying insights to bring the audience's world to life through the use of proprietary and public research sources, tools, and cultural observations
  • Build a global approach to leveraging strong analytical and strategic insights to form creative ideas to help solve clients' business problems and opportunities
  • Strengthen and scale Whalar's (as a dynamic, multi-division global organization) ability to stay informed of the competitive and evolving landscape of the creator economy and social platforms to enhance our industry expertise on behalf of clients and new business efforts
  • Direct the strategic development of client presentations and other important communication; delivering clear, compelling, and persuasive communications to all stakeholders
  • Be an ambassador in the development of new insights, audience segmentation, and cultural analysis that will build clients' businesses
  • Responsible for the growth and development of his/her direct reports/team by providing clear, direct, actionable, and motivating feedback
  • Build and maintain client and social platform relationships

Here's what we're looking for:

  • 12+ years strategically building brands at a top agency, working for Fortune 500 clients
  • Experience building and leading global teams and understanding the intersection of business strategy, consumer insights, and digital behavior in grounding big, purposeful ideas
  • Understanding of the creator economy, social platforms, and digital media
  • Strong leadership experience and recognized for their ability to balance mentorship and empowerment of the team, with ensuring quality of strategic output
  • Ability to review qualitative, quantitative research, and behavioral data and independently dive into research tools to draw and interpret insights
  • Ability to interact with and influence people of an organization, fostering strong cross-functional teamwork and collaborative results
  • Strategic thinking ability with a balanced analytical and creative approach to integrated marketing planning
  • Understanding of multiple channels for communications and connections, and their role in brand and content marketing and their application in the creator economy
  • Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities, discerning a clear path forward, and acting upon them swiftly

The salary range for this role is $190,000 - $250,000
