Vice President, Multicultural
Overview
We are seeking a Vice President, Multicultural to add to our dynamic Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) team . We are looking for someone who has experience leading innovative multicultural communications campaigns; holds relevant media relations relationships; ‘lives and breathes culture’; has significant experience working with other marketing disciplines as part of an integrated team; and builds/maintains strong client and people leadership skills.
About The Job
- Provide senior-level account and program-specific planning and supervision for accounts.
- Develop creative, innovative ideas and/or access teams to deliver these ideas to the clients based on their needs. Ability to push the envelope and take some risks to push client to the next level. Plan approach must be holistic in nature, accounting for all elements of the PR toolbox across traditional, social, and influencer opportunities.
- Exhibit strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues, and others.
- Understands trends in communications , lifestyle/entertainment, culture, and can help shape programs that are right for the clients’ core target audiences .
- Serve as the strategic liaison among client, account team and agency management.
- Serve as key contact and counselor for clients, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of clients’ business; anticipate and address client needs; partner with client and team to bring the best programs to life.
- Lead the execution of multicultural programs developed and sold in through the planning phase; motivate team members by promptly reviewing work and providing constructive feedback; encourage teams to take advantage of training and development opportunities; provide and shape team approach with detail/input on multicultural marketing approaches.
- Able to proactively share a vision for the account direction and to inspire the account team to achieve it.
- Creatively troubleshoot clients’ problems as they arise; seek senior management input and apply the resources from Ketchum whenever appropriate.
- Begin to build a leadership role in outside organizations to increase Ketchum’s visibility in marketplace and create new or incremental business opportunities.
- Manage account financials including accurate budget creation, allocation, and control. Ensure budgets are accurate when presented to clients, manage our scope of work to those budgets and the budget tracker to ensure we stay on track.
Qualifications
We’re looking for required skills, and they can come from any combination of education and experience. Diversity of thought and background are encouraged. Typical qualifications include:
- At least 9+ years of experience of agency and/or corporate public relations experience including multicultural marketing efforts.
- Proven track record in leading accounts and growing business
- Knowledge of trend spotting and cultural implications that will impact storytelling
- Deep experience in and relationships with key media that will drive messaging
- Direct experience in building and managing teams
- Ability to work in multi-faceted, fast-paced environment

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $135,000. This position may be bonus eligible depending on individual employee performance and Ketchum business performance. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, past training, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity and local geographic market data.
