Head of Nashville Label Partnerships
As part of the North American Label Partnerships team within the Music Team at Spotify, you will be responsible for nurturing and cultivating partnerships with Nashville labels while executing impactful initiatives and global release campaigns. The Head of Nashville, Label Partnerships will lead Spotify’s efforts with labels and key industry collaborators as the most senior member of the Label Partnerships team in Nashville. This role will be responsible for managing the Nashville Label partnerships team, providing careful and ongoing review of industry and audience insights, and coordinating among and getting buy-in from various cross-functional teams at Spotify (including, without limitation, Artist Partnerships, Editorial, Music Marketing, and PR) to achieve collective strategic goals for the Music Team across North America and Globally.
For the Head of Nashville, Label Partnerships role we seek a proven industry leader in Nashville who is an enthusiastic music fan and a proven people manager with a record of cultivating a culture of teamwork and collaboration and with experience fostering senior industry partner relationships. This leader must be able to prioritize, multi-task, and manage a team who is building, operating, and executing complex campaigns.
What you'll do
- Oversee Spotify’s relationship with labels and distribution partners in Nashville, serving as an energetic and approachable senior executive representing Spotify.
- Develop a cohesive music strategy with Nashville labels that drives culture and captures and enhances market share, all in an effort to solidify and unlock the full power of the Spotify platform.
- Manage, mentor, and empower the Nashville Label Partnerships team, providing vision, strategic guidance, and problem solving while guiding them through campaign planning, relationship building, and cross-functional process execution.
- Ensure coordination and alignment across creative and creative-adjacent teams supporting Nashville music and content, including Music Marketing, Creator Marketplace, Social, Media Planning, Ad Sales, Strategic Partnerships, etc.
- Track, review, and evaluate artist and label priorities, as well as culturally relevant moments, and identify in collaboration with a cross-functional team those artists that Spotify will support in on and off platform promotions.
- Work directly with label and distribution partners to gather insights and develop executive-level priority campaigns, from brief development, conception, production all the way through execution.
- Serve as a steadfast Music team leader across all initiatives that touch Nashville with a leadership philosophy and work ethic that is capable of handling a fast-paced and quickly evolving market segment.
Who you are
- You have 5+ years of leadership or management experience in the music industry
- You have 10 years of experience building either global marketing campaigns or managing complex projects and a proven ability to manage multiple top priority projects simultaneously.
- You have a minimum of 6 years of experience working in Nashville, or working closely with Nashville-based artists, labels, and managers, and have strong relationships with senior executives in Nashville.
- You have an established passion for and engagement with the Nashville music community and are in tune to various genres and cultures of music coming out of Nashville.
- You have a history of transparent, compassionate leadership focused on empowering your team and collaborating with others.
- You have extensive knowledge of and experience with the music industry, including label, management, and the Nashville landscape
- Exhibit a clear understanding of the marketplace, competitors, and current trends and innovations with strong relationships throughout the industry.
- You have an exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships and can effectively manage relationships with senior executives.
- You are an open, transparent and clear communicator.
- You are well organized and strive for operational excellence with the ability to plan and deliver on tight deadlines and pay exceptional attention to detail.
- You are comfortable in very fast paced, intense work environments and thrive on a team that moves quickly.
- An optimistic-minded, self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude and knack for problem solving.
- Able to easily adapt and learn new skill sets as circumstances require.
- Willingness to travel and participate in night and weekend events, where senior leadership presence is needed.
The United States base range for this position is $111,667 - $159,533 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
