Job Overview

Travel Media Group has an exciting opportunity for a creative writer! We are looking for a fun and energetic content creator to work in a fast paced environment who is self motivated with a strong background in copywriting, social media marketing, and attention to detail to develop content for a large portfolio of hotel partners. The ideal candidate will have a passion for travel and for developing interactive content and engagement with current and future hotel guests. You will be creating fun, informative, and engaging content that will turn followers in customers and customers into advocates. You will work to understand and develop a voice for each hotel partner and be responsible for creating unique social media posts, responding to reviews and writing copy for hotel websites. This position would be Monday-Friday and work in our main office located in Maitland, FL.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this position is to shape the online “persona” for our hotel partners through the creation of custom social media posts, responding to reviews, and copy writing for their websites. We are looking for a creative individual with a strong background in copywriting, social media marketing, and experience in guest relations and/or customer service.

The candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, curating, and creating social media posts that have high engagement while staying informed on developments on social media platforms and have a solid understanding of how each media channel can be optimized. These social media channels include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and others as appropriate.

The candidate will also be responsible for reviewing and analyzing our hotel partner’s online reviews through a proprietary software platform while creating unique responses to reviews. Occasionally, the candidate will be required to research and craft the copy for our hotel partner’s website. Research will include things to do near the hotel and images.

The Responsibilities Of This Position Include

  • Writing creative and engaging copy flawlessly on deadline
  • Managing a high volume of daily social media post creation
  • Translating client needs into engaging social media posts and responses
  • Meeting and exceeding daily/weekly activity benchmarks to ensure that we exceed each client's specified SLAs (Service Level Agreement).
  • Researching domestic and foreign travel destinations
  • Basic photo editing and design activities
  • Creating images that are consistent with the company’s brand identity
  • Identifying social media trends and improving content as needed
  • Understanding and staying up-to-date on social media advertising policies
  • Responding to public facing online reviews to help resolve guest issues for a large portfolio of customers
  • Creating and/or updating website content to meet SEO standards and help increase onsite conversion
  • Writing content on behalf of various brands while adhering to their brand standards and image
  • Performing other administrative duties as assigned
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of all Travel Media Group product offerings

Ideal Candidate

  • Has passion for social media and eagerness to learn
  • Has excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar
  • Is fluent with the nuances of social media writing, including the use of hashtags, emojis, puns, and acronyms
  • Has knowledge of image editing and designing with Photoshop or Canva
  • Has familiarity with copyright and free use images
  • Has familiarity with programs such as HootSuite and Sprout Social
  • Is self-motivated with an ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Possesses strong creative thinking skills and ability to think conceptually
  • Has analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Has time-management skills
  • Is passionate about working with clients and delivering on the promise of an excellent client experience
  • Has 1 -2 years experience in client support and/or guest relations
  • Has a strong background in copywriting and content creation
  • Exhibits a positive, cooperative, and friendly attitude, especially under pressure
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with English, Journalism, Advertising/Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications focus
