Who We Are:

Kode With Klossy was founded in 2015 to offer learning experiences and opportunities for young women and gender expansive teens that build their confidence and inspire them to pursue their passions in a technology-driven world. The flagship program is a free, 2-week coding summer camp that nearly 10,000 scholars have completed. However, our current programs are just a part of Kode With Klossy’s audacious vision for increasing access to STEAM education and sparking an entrepreneurial and creative spirit in young people. More than just equipping the scholars with employable skills, the Kode With Klossy experience and environment provide a framework for our scholars to succeed in anything they do in the future, on a bigger scale than they ever previously imagined. The Kode With Klossy program approach is distinguished by its positive impact on the life trajectories of its scholars, the role of women and non-binary people in tech and therefore the nature of tech’s impact on society.

The Role:

The Kode With Klossy team is seeking a leader who is excited to own all of the marketing functions and outcomes for the organization. We are looking for someone who can be a great steward for the brand and elevate awareness of its mission and impact while driving specific acquisition, retention, and referral outcomes. At this stage in Kode With Klossy’s organizational maturity, the ideal candidate is a “player coach". We are a small organization who needs both leadership and execution. We are looking for someone who has had extensive experience building and leading the performance and/or growth marketing function at an organization. While we are looking for a candidate with deep expertise in performance marketing, the ideal leader has a functional knowledge across all the other marketing domains including: creative/brand marketing, communications, community, product marketing, partner marketing, and production. We are looking for a candidate who is aware of their limits, is capable of identifying and hiring top talent in all marketing functions, and knows when to bring in outside expertise. The ideal candidate is a strategic and analytical thinker, a wellspring of creative ideas, excited to manage multiple streams of work throughout the fast-changing cycles of the year, and they should be resourceful and efficient with the limited resources we have as a nonprofit organization. Someone who is a good fit for this role should be effective in telling the story of the organization as well as those of the community. They should have a strong sense of how and when to engage Kode With Klossy’s different audiences. They should be inherently inclusive and genuinely thoughtful about how our community receives our messages.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Leading all marketing efforts for the organization: performance marketing, creative/brand marketing, communications, community, product marketing, partner marketing, and production.
  • Hiring, managing, and developing the Marketing team.
  • Hiring and managing external agencies and contractors as needed to support key workstreams.
  • Directly managing performance marketing and the optimization of the conversion funnel for Kode With Klossy across all channels and audiences.
  • Managing the work of direct reports, agencies, or contractors across: Creative and brand (visual identify, voice, narrative), Communications (press, speaking engagements, thought leadership, impact storytelling), Community (community engagement strategy & enablement, influencer marketing), Partners (presentations, one-pagers, integration with partners’ internal and external marketing), Production (video concepting, production, and editing, content strategy and writing).

Requirements:

  • 8+ years experience in marketing roles
  • Deep experience in performance and/or growth marketing
  • Experience in an least one other marketing function
  • Proven track record of strategic decision-making
  • Desire to join an entrepreneurial, fast-paced organization
  • Passionate about inspiring and empowering and young female, gender-non conforming and trans students and have a keen interest in STEAM
