Chandler, the fourth largest City in Arizona, is located in one of the fastest growing innovation and technology centers in the nation s currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Digital Content Coordinator in the The City of Chandler Mayor & Council's Office. This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits.
Who We Are Looking For
Our new team member will have a passion for social media, customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. They will facilitate communication between residents and members of the City Council, the City Manager's Office, and City departments. Using various communication tools including email, phone, social media, and digital communication platforms, our new team member will research and provide responses to residents and City Council requests, and in addition will draft speeches, emails and social media posts, write articles, and create presentations, and will represent the City and elected officials.
Essential Functions
- Prepares graphic presentations and speaking points for Mayor and Council.
- Identifies opportunities for Mayor and Council to engage with constituents by monitoring social media and conducting outreach with residents.
- Assists in the production of City Council shows and videos.
- Plans and coordinates in-person events.
- Assists Public Information Office with digital content creation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public or Business Administration or related field;
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible and related experience in researching and analyzing data, responding to citizen/customer requests and/or program management; including at least one (1) year of social media management experience;
- Valid Arizona Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
The position available is a full-time position and is subject to a six (6) month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for four (4) months should another position become available.
The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
