CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build sustained, community-based response programs to natural disasters. In response to the COVID- 19 pandemic, CORE Georgia provides free vaccinations and additional resources to disadvantaged communities around Georgia. CORE works in partnership with local counties and other partners. In 2023, CORE Georgia operates a COVID-19 vaccination program with incentive and health outreach programs and Narcan distribution at our mobile vaccination sites. Also, CORE Georgia operates a MPOX vaccination and education program with HIV and STI testing kit distribution. CORE focuses on health equity through services to vulernable and underserved populations.

CORE Georgia’s Statewide Communications department works to increase vaccine uptake, promote CORE Georgia services, and share health outreach and education across Georgia through digital marketing on social media platforms and direct community outreach. CORE currently manages up to 50 vaccine sites per week across the state and sends targeted social media messages to increase the marketing of these sites. The social media and overall digial content messaging supports the larger CORE communications messaging for Georgia communities that includes social, broadcast, print and other media.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as the liaison between the Statewide Communications Team and Grant Program Managers and Health Outreach Coordinators with regard to: reporting on all regional community outreach activities in a timely manner and on a weekly basis, tracking community outreach needs and reporting any needs to CORE collaborating teams, reporting on all community outreach results including (but not limited to) partner activities (when applicable), and media coverage (over and above what has been coordinated internally with the PR team).
  • Running ads via social platforms and handling implementation of ad strategy as directed by Communications Manager.
  • Reporting on social media ad results and effectiveness as determined by views, likes, comments (and tracking types of comments), visits to website, booked appointments, and any other applicable information as determined by Communications Manager.
  • Coordinating content gathering from events and activities in regional health districts where CORE Georgia provides services with area staff and outreach partners.
  • Leading the geo targeting activities of CORE GA regional areas for social media ad campaigns and overall service through digital marketing efforts.
  • Coordinating social media calendar for posting, produce live social media content, and research upcoming events for social media and outreach opportunities.
  • Supporting with content creation such as flyer creation or marketing collateral graphics using graphic design platform and editing content for staff and partners.
  • Supporting with setting and tracking grant and/or department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns.
  • Filtering comments and questions from users and responding to social media messages, inquiries, and comments based on a set of FAQ and/or CORE GA guidelines.
  • Monitoring and evaluating content performance regularly by analyzing key metrics, creating comprehensive reports of social media content, and supporting with optimization to improve social media ad strategy and overall content.
  • Understand and effectively demonstrate CORE’s mission, vision, core values & strategic direction to the CORE community through marketing content.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years’ experience in marketing, digital marketing, social media management, and/or advertising role; entry-level nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and program coordination skills, including a demonstrated ability to efficiently plan, organize, and manage projects with limited direct supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills with an emphasis on interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a highly collaborative organization. Able to work effectively as part of a small, proactive team.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, Hubspot, Google Analytics, paid search marketing, and graphic design software.
  • Experience using graphic design platforms (Canva and Adobe Acrobat & InDesign), CMS platforms, and CRM systems (Smartsheet & Salesforce) for contact management
  • Bachelor’s in communications, marketing, advertising, business administration, creative content creation, digital media, or related field.

Skills

  • Detail-oriented, able to work well under deadlines and in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate critical thinking skills and work both independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and needs of the organization and adaptability in work style and work schedule, including ability to work for extended days and on weekends during critical points in the program.

Requirements

  • Must be able to attend regular in-person marketing / outreach events, partner meetings, and service site visits.
  • Language – English required; multilingual is a plus.
  • This position is a full-time role (~40 hours per week).
